Motherboard: X570 Aorus Master
Main drives: 2x Aorus NVMe 1TB PCIe4.0 drives (installed in top M.2 slots - i.e. M.2-A and M.2-B)
Storage drives: 4x Samsung 860 Evo 1TB SATA SSD drives
Problem: Not all drives being detected
SATA ports used: 0,1,2,3
I initially only had one Evo SSD installed, it and the NVMe drives have been running without a problem for the past 3 months. So I decided to add 3 more 1TB 860 Evo drives.
Once installed. Only my NVME drives were visible. So I unplugged them all and tested each SATA cable and power cable on the drive I know works. All cables work well.
I used one set of power and data cables on each drive. Each can be detected individually and run well.
Then when I add a second drive while in the BIOS and restart, I detect two drives. I can repeat the steps to initiate all 4 drives. Yey! Wait, no, because when I restart my computer I am back to no drives. I have to unplug them all and add one by one to get them to work. I have tried every combination of drives as well as just 2 drives and just 3 drives. But each time restart I lose all recognition in the BIOS.
I tried re-flashing F11, no difference. I even tried F21b, no differernce. I am back on F11 now.
I have disable CSM, Enabled CSM and disabled again. I have disabled chipset sata ports and enabled again, no difference.
I am at a loss as to what could be wrong. Please could someone come along and save me before I lose it.
