So for the 3rd time this year I switched back to my 3900X system from my [email protected] system so I could get some editing done faster.....
Well that turned into a nightmare as my studio monitors (speakers) keep switching damned channels!!!
Every 5 seconds my centre channel will flip over to my rear channels then quickly flip back after .5 seconds. This is frustrating as all hell and I would have liked better quality control on BIOS revisions from gigabyte seeing I bought their flagship board and it's having these sorts of issues.
Apparently this relates back to the 10-bit tag issue that numerous other dedicated sound card users are having. Most AE-5/AE-9 user's have contacted Creative (I also use the AE-5) and they have said it's an AGESA/BIOS issue.
Gigabyte get your s**t together man, there are loyal customers like myself who are definitely considering a switch to another manufacturer as you have fantastic hardware but butterfingers firmware support.
What should have been a faster workflow has greatly reduced my productivity purely because of BIOS revisions, I shouldn't have to sacrifice better RAM stability in order to hear things as I should!
Also apparently F12f has solved the audio card issues for other users but the Aorus Xtreme is lagging behind in revisions (this is NOT how it should be).

I use the onboard audio on my x570 Master--think it's the same on the xTreme. RealTek 1220-VB; SABRE 1119 hardware DAC, and a really, really nice headphone amp that works extremely well. No issues at all with the front-channel HD jack. Have you disabled your onboard sound?--I'm sure you have. Also, if you have a GPU with sound--disable that, too! I do. Either one could interfere with your Creative card--as I know from experience with the last Creative card I owned. If you decide to use the onboard sound hardware--be sure and use the driver from the GB site--the sound device is custom to these mboards and you must use the GB to get the full range of sound and use of the headphone amp (I use position 2) Even my Sony MDR-7506 phones work a treat with the amp--and the Sony phones are not expensive (~$75 AMZN) I'm fairly certain your onboard sound (and mine) are the best you can buy in a x570 mboard, regardless of what the mboard itself costs.
Creative drivers have been problematic in many systems I've owned--I won't buy their stuff anymore because of it. Listen--if it is a bios issue of some kind (it cannot be an AGESA issue as that only affects the CPU and comes from AMD), then Creative ought to be able to tell you which bios to use that will work correctly. If they can't that means Creative doesn't know what the problem is and isn't in the mood to fix it, either, and is passing the buck. It's too bad you need the Creative card for editing--the onboard sound is as good if not better than anything Creative makes. But then you'd need it to edit, too--unless you current editing software will support it. I don't want to sound a negative note, but I've experienced the problem you described in the past, especially with Creative cards, and the fix has always been to reinstall the sound card drivers--sometimes several times! If you haven't already done it--then first thoroughly uninstall the Creative drivers, reboot, and reinstall them. You may have to rinse and repeat a few times as I said.
Good luck! (If your editing software will support it you owe yourself to at least try the onboard sound with the proper driver installation as I recommend above.)

While it is a great onboard, it is useless due to interference with the onboard being situated on the actual board. It is a BIOS issue with the 10-bit tag in PCI-e which is locked out from us unless we mod the BIOS which I am thinking of doing, I have switched back to F5 which is AGESA 1.0.0.3 and have no audio issues now but I had to downclock the ram a bit. This is a Gigabyte issue and while their hardware engineers are good, their BIOS is leaving a lot to be desired, something tells me they have bitten off more than they can chew with the amount of boards they are pumping out.
I have a workaround but I get lower clocks on the CPU and RAM, I will eagerly await the F12f that will fix this issue.

tweedilderp, the only way Gigabyte will know about your issue is if you submit a support ticket explaining your issue. I've even read in this forum a couple of times when users received their own tweaked BIOS for special requirements. But it won't happen without you specifically explaining the problem and submitting the request to Gb support.

I misunderstood your post--thought you had tried F12f and it didn't work for you, or would have linked this last post. I'm running F12f myself. Hope it works!

We are running different boards, I check that forum every day to see if I get it, They have most likely suspended work on the BIOS until the next AGESA (skipping 1.0.0.5) and focusing on z490 atm unless they have a specific group of people for each platform.

Where do we submit such a request?
Others have posted about this very issue and also complained about the 10-bit tag in other forums which, if i remember correctly, gigabyte had responded to with troubleshooting steps that did not work at the time.
I think I may also post over on win-raid it's a simple change to expose the option but I do not want to risk bricking my mobo because of my lack of experience.
Cheers my man, Gigabyte actually gave me the Xtreme BIOS F12f, I did not expect that, required a bit of back and forth but time to test out this revision

does anyone have the bitspower or EK monoblock for this motherboard? Is it worth the money?
intender wrote: Jan 19, 2021 11:55:39 GMT -8 lima567 this is a windows 10 20h2 issue. I had the same thing on one of my computers. I was never able to get logged back into my account on that PC. I moved that drive to another computer and copied over all data I wanted to keep and did a clean install.

sozehh wrote: Jan 16, 2021 10:58:58 GMT -8 joeym ofc i've done it, signed and trying to spread the petition, gigabyte do your work please and add resizable bar for intel 300 series, it is not an old product, people like me spent 800 euros on aorus xtreme, don't tell me i have already an outdated mb
joeym wrote: Jan 16, 2021 7:15:27 GMT -8 I would strongly recommend that anyone who hasn't already signed the petition do so now. If you already signed it, please share it! This may help encourage all other motherboard manufacturers to follow suite. Link to the petition: chng.it/LKLksG4yQv

desaccorde wrote: Jan 15, 2021 0:50:15 GMT -8 300 Series MUST be supported, no other way. MSI supports it. They may think they're pushing their customers for a premature upgrade, but guess what? Even if I upgrade, I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte board. Me and all my close friends will never buy Gig again.
johnyb0y wrote: Jan 14, 2021 4:58:11 GMT -8 @gigabyte, I've personally built with half a dozen of your boards and recommended you at least 5 times last year. This will stop if you screw Z390 users with not supporting Re-BAR.*
