My internet keeps randomly dropping on my x570 Aorus master board, it happens after long hours of usage. The only solution i've found so far that is successful is swapping the cable to the second ethernet port on the board when it happens, if it happens to that other socket then I just swap back to the old one and its working again (restarting PC also fixes the issue).
-I am on bios version F11 (dont remember experiencing this issue on previous bios versions)
-I have ruled out my cable and router from being the issue, its 100% something to do with the PC.
-I have reinstalled drivers for both
event viewer logs:
Intel(R) I211 Gigabit Network Connection Network link is disconnected.
If after using the Intel wizard, and you still have problems, try the Windows Troubleshoot for network.
If that doesn't fix your issues, then try these:
A. Disable the Power Off option for the adapter: 1. Open Device Manager. (Win Key+R > type devmgmt.msc > OK) 2. Expand the Network adapters. 3. Right click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties. 4. Click the Power Management tab. 5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. 6. Click OK.
B. Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC: 1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD. 2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator. 3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter. 4. Restart your PC
C. Reinstall the network adapter drivers: 1. Ensure you have the newest drivers available from previous download 2. Go to your start screen/menu and type Device Manager. 3. Expand Network adapters. 4. Right click on the wireless adapter and choose Uninstall. 5. Run the downloaded drivers from step 1. 6. Restart your PC
They are dated 4/24/2020. Work great. I unplugged the Intel adapter and used the RealTek just to see any difference. There's no difference, really, but it's been several months now and I have simply left the RealTek adapter plugged in. No drops that were not Internet caused have occurred even in very long Internet sessions.
However, if you decide to stick with the Intel adapter then be sure and disable the RealTek adapter in the bios! I use the Realtek so I disable the Intel adpter, etc. No sense using resources for system devices you aren't using.
But if you use the RealTek and see the same problem then it's likely the drops are realted to your ISP Internet connection, imo.

Just an update, 3 days since I changed my adapter settings
Realtek:
I turned off energy efficient ethernet, green ethernet, power saving mode, shutdown wake-on-lan, wake on magic packet, wake on pattern match.
Intel:
I turned off energy efficient ethernet, wake on link settings, wake on magic packet, wake on pattern match
No disconnects yet as of changing the above settings.
It's 100% my computers issue as no one else on my network disconnects when I do. The issue is present on both ports but so far I havent had a disconnect from the realtek one yet to force me to swap over to the intel one.
Gonna give it 2 weeks to see if i experience any, so far so good though.
Will download the realtek drivers you linked tyvm.

Nevermind it did not work, my realtek ethernet disconnected despite my network still being up. this time all I could see in event viewer was

Updated bios to f20a disconnects seem a lot less frequent or maybe im not leaving my computer on as much not sure. The longer my PC is on the higher the chance it happens.
I also had the same problem on the x570 master.......as I recall....what I did was go to device manager, network adapters, Intel Gigabit Network Connection .....and though it said my driver was up to date, I updated it anyway and now have no problems...hope this helps ( maybe also update drivers for Intel wifi 6 too) I can't remember if I did both?

I am not sure if this was confirmed on this forum yet.
Still, this is hopeful, it means finally some recognition of the Realtek 2.5GbE crashes.
I have a Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX with a Realtek 2.5GbE LAN chip (2.5 Gbit/1 Gbit/100 Mbit) and I found this topic. I keep getting the exact same error in Event Viewer: Event ID 10400, The network interface "Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller" has begun resetting (...) Reason: The network driver has detected that its hardware has stopped responding to commands
One of the qBittorrent team members has just stated that it seems like a Realtek driver issue: github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/14019 "uTP is just a protocol over UDP. This is pretty clearly a driver issue to me, it should not crash with some UDP packets"
I have found that manually installing the latest Realtek driver through the Device Manager solves the 2.5GB Realtek connect problem for me. It's weird--when I install a new build of Win10, it installs the latest Microsoft driver for the 2.5Gb controller--which promptly disconnects after a few moments, and even after repairing through the Troubleshooter, it only stays up for a few more minutes, until it disconnects again. This continues indefinitely. But when I install the driver manually through the device manager, it stays connected for the entire session--sometimes 12 hours or more. I mean, it is rock solid after the manual Device Manager install. the stability is permanent and persists through power-downs and cold boots.
My guess is that something isn't working correctly in the RealTek automatic driver installer (it's buggy) that is corrected when the Device Manager is used to install the RealTek driver. Haven't tried it, but my guess is that when the Device Manager is used to install either the Microsoft or the Realtek drivers that either one will work fine if installed that way. RealTek drivers work great, though, when installed that way.

Anyway some of the yellow warnings must be stay yellow warnings for security reasons - and are related (as far as i know) for networks, remotestuff, administration - so its maybe better to not fix all the yellow warnings this way (as long as you are not sure about what they are good for...)

andreigrum wrote: Feb 18, 2021 8:42:19 GMT -8 Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.
