It is my understanding that my 3970X should have four NUMA nodes. I have used Task Manager (open TM, Select performance tab-CPU-Right click and hover on 'change graph to'-NUMA nodes option is greyed out). Used coreinfo (Sysinternals) - shows 'No NUMA nodes.' Changed NUMA Nodes in BIOS from Auto to four and two. Saw no difference in results. Any help is appreciated. Thanks and enjoy, John.
EDIT: Further research indicates that my processor defaults to UMA (Uniform Memory Access) not NUMA. I have not been able to determine how to enable NUMA mode. To enable in my 1950X requires setting Memory Interleaving to Channel. I did this on my older system and am now running in NUMA mode. Both of my tests above work. My 3970X BIOS has only Memory Interleaving On/Off. I did not try Off.
Anyone with a clue how to Enable NUMA Mode in the 3970X, please share it.
