I thought I was the only one with this weird issue. My MoBo is a X570 Mini Itx.
Been trying different bios settings and the only way that the system always wakes up from sleep as it should is in a case where CPU multiplier is set at 43 maximum with my 3800X.
Pretty satisfied so far. I keep my PCs in sleep mode mostly. Although I love overclocking, this time I had less luck. Unless this is fixed.
But the motherboard is solid overall, so I'm glad.

Has anyone else tried the powercfg /availablesleepstates command via the command prompt?
Apparently the only available sleep state available on my X570 Aorus Pro WiFi is:
Standby (S3)
Yet on my Asus board the same command results is available sleep states:
Standby (S3)
Hibernate
Hybrid Sleep
Fast Startup
I have spent several hours playing with settings within Windows and BIOS attempting to enable fast startup on the X570 Aorus Pro WiFi with no damn success.
I have already RMA'ed the motherboard and the one I received has the same damn issues with sleep and the enabling ERP kills Wi-Fi issue.
This is pretty damn ridiculous that the board is on Bios F11 (even F12a beta ) and they have not addressed these major flaws.
It's time for me to dump this POS and go with another Asus board.
I'm not going to waste my time doing another RMA if this company won't even bother to test the board they are sending out to me for the reported issues.
Time to move on to another X570 board and give up completely on Gigabyte. That includes boards I choose for my customers as well.

Similar specs as me, I have the same issue with waking the PC from sleep and have tried the same things as you to fix it. I still end up with nothing happening and the machine showing 21 on the BIOS LED
Win 10 Pro x64 (Same issue on build 1903 and 1909)
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
X570 AORUS XTREME (F11 BIOS)
Corsair Dominator Platinum 4 x 8 GB 3600Mhz (CMT32GX4M4K3600C16) (tested individually in different slots and in differing combinations)
Similar issues here. >50% of the time the system won't wake up as it's supposed to. Fans begin to spin at full speed, no video signal, power button doesn't respond (even a long press) and the BIOS has reset its settings after recovering by unplugging the power. I've tried pretty much everything. Re-installed Win10 twice; all latest drivers installed; tested on default BIOS settings too.
I have same issue with aorus x570 master board. Put it to sleep and randomly it won't wake up properly: no video output, fans are at 100%, debug code is 21 and power button does nothing, hold it or pressit, only switching off power supply does the trick.
I noticed two things. When putting to sleep keep an eye on debug code. If right before "powering off" it shows code 21 for a split second then you will have this problem on a wake up.
Another thing I noticed are posts on other motherboards with very similar symptoms and some of them fixed it by either disabling XMP or placing timing and frequency f ram manually.
Could you guys try this as well and see if it helps? First try without XMP at all and then try to put what xmp profile shows manually?
I tried to put xmp manually but cpu-z showed me that I didn't do anything to RAM since I am total noob in ram oc so I resorted to hibernation for now. If any of you will have success please describe steps you performed.
I disabled XMP some time ago, but the issue did not disappear.
Luckily for me the issue is solved at CPU multiplier X43. I can't go higher anyway due to power usage and the stock cooler, at 4.4 Ghz all core it's kinda hot in cinebench at around 75C.
But I would go mad if I spent money on a AIO and not being able to use it properly.

Add me to the list of people experiencing this issue. I have an Aorus Extreme board on BIOS F11. I'm using a Ryzen 9 3950x.
The board will sleep but if left for an extended period (I'm yet to determine how long it takes for the real issue to kick in) the board will never wake and my only choice is to use the hard reset button.
When the issue occurs my keyboard is not lit up and refuses to accept an input, however my mouse chained via USB to the system via the keyboard is lit but again produces no input to wake the PC.
I've reinstalled Windows 10 to remove all trace of ASUS Ai Suite 3 software and I've done some reasearch involving not letting the DRAM controller enter into a lower power state, but unfortunately nothing I've tweaked in the BIOS has fixed the issue.
I'm confused as to how they've managed to get this so wrong, given people seem to have been writing about this issue since BIOS version 7 and I've paid for a £600 (~$800) mainboard. The only thing left to do at this point is RMA the board and go back to ASUS if nothing can be done, my first experience of moving away from ASUS in about 15 years has not been positive.

I posted this on another thread. Sorry for the cross post, but I think it's important (mods please delete if this is not cool, thank you):
Same issues with my x570 Aorus Elite . Very frustrated.
A couple of thoughts:
1. Someone said they 'went back' to their old PSU rated at 850 watts and that fixed their issue. They never explained what their new PSU was rated (or brand), but could this be an issue (I don't have an 850 watt PSU sitting around to try this, is 650 just not enough juice)? However, if I am going to plunk anymore money down, it will be on a new (NOT gigabyte) motherboard.
2. I have no proof, and I will admit I am very ignorant of display cards or PCI slots, but this really feels like it maybe the culprit. Someone pointed out making sure their monitor was powered on when booting. I feel like my system will reboot 'better' when both my monitors are on. I have no statistics to back this up, however.
3. This is up to us in this forum at this point. I'm very frustrated with Gigabyte (see long rant below). If posting; please include your build information. I've got it in my signature, and if I'm missing anything, please let me know.
Thank you everyone for all the advice and information! Cross
-Rant- I bought this board back in November, hoping that a bios update would help (how naive). I'm so frustrated at this point with this issue that I finally RMA'd my MB back to Gigabyte to fix (someone mentioned this fixed their issue). After explaining to Gigabyte my issues they sent me an RMA. They kept the board for a little bit and sent it back. They did not (have not) communicated with me at all on this issue. They just sent it back. No note saying 'this thing is working as designed' or 'hey, we found an issue and we fixed it' - NOTHING from Gigabyte (hey, if i'm the dumb*** here and haven't configured it correctly, please let me know - and you know what? You can absolutely call me a dumb***!). I did not have to pay for the return trip of the MB, and the fact that they gave me an RMA to send it back gave me hope that it had a problem and they would fix it, but alas it still does not reboot with out power cycle and/or go to sleep and wake etc. -end rant-
Thanks again everyone! Cross

i am having a similar issue when i leave my pc on for an hour or so without usage ( while downloading something or copying large data from hdd to hdd ) it goes to sleep and when i press any keyboard or mouse button to bring it from sleep state it does not boot unless restart button pressed or power cycle ( turn off psu and wait 10 seconds and then turn on back ) !!!
problem noticed about 2 months ago after i updated windows to 1909 clean install, amd chipset and gpu drivers from amd website as gigabyte support drivers are outdated, AIO ML240L installed, F11 bios Latest
bios settings : all default except the following :
dram volt 1.36v = 1.38v in windows
xmp on 3200mhz ( manual input for 16-18-18-18-36-54 as per spd data, gate resistors RTT NOM, read and part are set manually to /7 , /3 , /1 respectively, )
( cpu bclk 100mhz or auto , cpu multiplayer 42x, voltage 1.376v in bios, LLC turbo )
booting os on M2 NVME 512GB SP34A80 x4
TV connected via HDMI cable, 1080p 60hz
Gigabyte easy tune, , rgb fusion, LG hub, Kaspersky 2020 internet security
ps: tried with stock bios settings and the issue is still there sadly , gigabyte please fix it !!!
note 2 : i am planning to clean install windows again in 2-3 days so please update the support drivers to be able to use with 1909 especially chipset and sound, thank you !
I've been having the "wake up and crash sytem" problem too. I have a x570 Aorus Master and a Seasonic 1000w Prime Ultra Titanium. Before the Seasonic PSU I had a 500w from EVGA, which I didn't have any problems to wake up my PC. After I changed it to the Seasonic, every time I sleep my PC and wake it up, it goes into a "open loop" (dunno how to call it) where the fans go up to 100%, no video output or keyboard mouse work. The only way to power it OFF it unplugging it from the wall and wait for like ten seconds to plug it back in and restart my PC. Sometimes the BIOS gets reset and sometimes it doesn't I think it depends on how much I take to unplug it and plug it back, not sure.
Oh my board has a code display. I get code 21 during the "open loop" until I unplug it from the wall.
I'm in contact with Gigabyte and Seasonic tech support to try to figure this out but no luck until today. I ran a bunch of test both tech support asked me for and nothing. I even went out and bought a used Cool Master 850w PSU and it works, sleep resume as intended with the 850w PSU. So I'm not sure which product is defective unfortunately I don't another PC to test the Seasonic PSU. Some else already said this on the forums that an 850w PSU worked for him too.
Yesterday I came into Gigabyte forums and found out I'm not the only one, there are quite a few people with this issue. Hope we can find a solution soon to this problem. I really don't wanna RMA any product.
Here is a list of test I did, none of them fix the problem until I changed the PSU to a less than 1000w and another brands.
(By stuck I mean - turn ON PC, wait on Windows to start and load software, sleep the computer and wake up PC, stuck and remove plug from wall).
1. Run the PSU on Normal mode and on Hybrid mode. -Stuck 2. Replaced the battery with a new one. When I replaced the battery I tried both: a) with my BIOS settings b) CMOS reset, left all setting to default. None of them have an impact on my problem. -Stuck 3. Connected the second ATX_12V cable. (Now I have both connected ATX_12V and ATX_12V1 plugged). -Stuck 4. Cleaned and swap around my RAM modules. -Stuck 5. Removed one of my two RAM modules (I have two 16gb sticks) and run PC with one module. -Stuck
With one RAM module I tried the following.
1. CMOS reset and left setting to default and boot Windows. -Stuck 2. Unplugged ALL components (case fans, AIO, USBs, extra monitors, WiFi, LAN, and speakers) from the board except GPU and case plugs (power buttons) and keyboard. Unfortunately I couldn't get into Windows before the PC shutdown by itself. 3. Plugged the case fans only. Now I got into Windows. -Stuck 4. Plugged all components back except AIO and USBs. -Stuck 5. I tried with Global C-State Enabled and Disabled, still not working. ErP Enabled and Disabled, still not working.
All the test have been done on the latest version of BIOS which is F11, AMD chipset 2.01.15.2138 driver and Windows 10 1909.
Hope we can find an answer soon!

After ordering and received the MSI Unify motherboard. I went and swap it out will the same components I used on with Gigabyte Aorus Master motherboard. Guess what? Sleep mode actually works as intended. I even got rid of another sleep mode issue I had with the EVGA 360 CLC AIO. So now I can sleep my PC with any issue at all. Unfortunately we will not know if this issue will ever get resolved by Gigabyte. Is it software (BIOS) or hardware (compatibility) related? who knows...
Just FYI on the AIO issue if someone ever comes across with it.
If I sleep the PC and wake it up, once a shut it OFF the fans and RGB will keep powered ON. The way to completely shut it down was pressing the power button for 4 seconds. After a bunch of tests I figured out is was something between the USB2.0 connection and or EVGA (crappy) software. Since I'm going watercooling I didn't invest on it. But like I said with the MSI Unify Mobo, problem is gone. Also, this issue happened with a 500w PSU from EVGA.
Aorus Master motherboard will be on sale... shame I'm gonna lose money on this.

I have been able to get this to happen a few times, but not consistently. The only things that changed for me between not having the issue and having the issue are the following
1. I installed VMware workstation 15 player
2. I installed Wallpaper engine
3. I enabled IOMMU in the bios.
Unless everyone else with issues is using one of those software I am going to assume that IOMMU is the culprit. I will continue testing for a while longer, but if anyone else would would like to try disabling IOMMU in the bios and see if it makes a difference for them that would be helpful. This sleep bug only happened a few times for me, not every time. If I left it sleeping overnight it seemed to wake without issue, but if I left it sleeping for less than say an hour it would not wake. Everything would power up but it stayed on a black screen.
My Signature... I do not work for gigabyte. My advice and opinions are my own.
After some testing, I was able to get reliable reproduction on my system. I'm on:
Win 10 Pro x64 (build 1909)
X570 Aorus Elite WiFi Samsung SSD 860 EVO G.Skill Trident Z Royal RGB DDR4 2x16 EVGA GeForce RTX 2070S Corsair TX-M Series TX650M
To reproduce, I suspend the system (hibernate/sleep have the same issue) and BEFORE the system fully enters the sleep state, I send a wakeup signal by mashing on the mouse. This will consistently trigger the bootloop/no post, I'll have to either hit the power supply switch or hold down the case button for a few seconds to force a shut down. It's reset my BIOS every time, as well.
I haven't been able to reproduce the problem in the cases where I left the system "settle" into sleep and then try to wake it. Ordinarily, I'd be able to live with this. However, Windows 10 seems to wake the system on its own sometimes, and a poorly timed wake signal from the OS can trigger the issue, which happened to me last night.
Anyone else have a similar experience with this issue?
Apologies for the double post, but I did a bit more testing on the above. When I disable my XMP profile in the BIOS (preset profile 1), I can get the system to wake from hibernate in the above conditions without issue. Interestingly enough, trying to wake from sleep with the reproduction steps still results in a boot loop. A while ago, I had tried to disable the memory overclocking while troubleshooting, but still saw the same issue--must've been using sleep to test, here.
I haven't tried calculating and manually inputting timings for the memory yet, but I'm hoping that will let me have both the overclocking and at least one working sleep strategy. Not perfect, but not the end of the world...
Also noticed I'm on a rather old (F2) version of the BIOS. I'm reluctant to upgrade it, as it feels like my issue is perhaps more stable than what others are seeing with newer versions of the BIOS.
