I've contacted support, but in case somebody has a solution faster, I'm posting here too.

I've got my system for about a year.

(TR 2950x, 64GB RAM (Hyperx, 4 modules, listed as supported), Gigabyte RTX2080 Gaming OC, Corsair AX860i)

Video of the boot loop in action (no VGA plugged)

Two weeks ago it suddenly reset and boot-looped until I turned off the power from the PSU. (1 reboot every 2 seconds or so)
From that point it either boot-looped when starting or worked for a few minutes until breaking again.
I've tried unplugging every peripheral, but nothing helped.
I've let the computer alone for a couple of hours and when I came back to try fixing it again the computer started normally.
I've done a full RAM test, a long CPU burn test, a long GPU burn test and everything passed properly. I felt confident the RAM, CPU, GPU and power supply (Corsair AX860i) were fine.

Today the story repeats. I've immediately unplugged every peripheral: boot loop.
I've removed the graphical card (Gigabyte RTX 2080 OC): boot loop.

When it boot loops immediately the last LED code is 3E, so I've removed two RAM modules (they are not using XMP) and it boot-looped again.

I've reset the CMOS, reached the BIOS, but while reconfiguring it, the computer shuts-off.

At this point I have no more idea.

Re-seat CPU, re-flash BIOS and you are out of options.

I've flashed the BIOS again, no help there.

I don't think it's the CPU, since the system held for 2 weeks (and one year before that) and survived several burn tests.

I hope it's not the MB.

So I tried, as unlikely it may have seemed.

I also tried replacing the cooling paste by that grizzly bear something.

I've checked the pressure of the cooler.

I've checked the memory (combinations, number of modules, memtest, 72h tests)

I've checked the cpu.

I've replaced the power unit (I've got many computers here)

I tried everything.

Beside giving me the "h" version of the bios replacing the boot loop by an "off", I had very disappointing answers from Gigabyte : illogical answers, including using a different RAM although I explained everything I did already and the computer has been stable for 1 year.

The error triggers at some point and from that point powering up the machine shuts it down almost immediately.

But now I think I've pin-pointed the problem.

I'm running a test right as I'm writing this to prove it, and how about that ... it works. 20 minutes of burn and nothing happened (and my CPU temperature tops at 62°)

So all I needed to do to fix the issue for the next few days (apparently it takes about 2 weeks for the issue to creep up) is to keep pressing the "CMOS" button for one minute. Save, and restart.

For some reason, after one year the CMOS has started to degrade, I'm thinking bit-rot.

That's the explanation I came up with and the experience seems to validate it.

Right after this I'm asking for RMA to the shop or a replacement by another model/brand. I'm thinking Asus (their shenanigans 20 years ago made me switch to Gigabyte, it's time I give them a second chance. Given I've bought 6 computers last year, it should now go pretty fast.

Hey all, got a X370 Gaming 5 with Ryzen 7 1700. My RAM (4 x G.Skill Trident 3200 with Samsung chips) are only working at 1866 MHz. Cant activate XMP 2.0, because mobo resets the timings to standard, if i do.

Essentially a new build:
MB: Gigabyte Aorus Ultra

Plan was to configure the two SSDs, in RAID 1, as the new “C” drive.
