Hi all

I have the X570 Master with a Ryzen 3700x, running Windows 10 64 bit, 1903 and up to date.

My RAM is Kingston HyperX Predator 2 x 16GB 3200Mhz HX432C16PB3K2/32

In BIOS I am told that there is 32768 MB of RAM.

However in Windows, regardless of what software I use, whether it is Speccy, or AIDA64, or the Windows Resource Monitor, the total system RAM is reported as 32697 MB installed. There is zero Hardware Reserved RAM.

This difference of ~71 MB from the actual RAM installed is also present if I have just one stick of RAM installed. So if I have one stick of RAM installed, and it doesn't matter which slot or which stick, I get 16314 MB installed RAM, and zero Hardware Reserved.

If I boot into memtest, a smaller number of megabytes are missing (~40 MB).

I have done stress testing with memtest, prime95 (FTT and Blend) and AIDA64 with no issues.

The problem persists regardless of whether I set RAM to XMP or not.

Does anybody have a similar issue?

An update - in case anyone else is having this issue.

Since I managed to fix my cold boot problem by using Q FLASH PLUS to flash the latest F5I BIOS (clearing CMOS wasn't doing the trick), the amount of RAM that windows is not seeing has dropped.

Windows now reports 32717 MB of installed RAM (still zero hardware reserved).

So clearly the BIOS is giving Windows this information.

I look forward to a fix.

Doesn't sound like anyone else has had this issue.. however I can confirm other OS's also do not report the entire physical RAM.

I booted a couple of linux distros off USB. One was FatDog64 which was missing a couple of hundred MB, and another was Puppy Linux Tahr 64 bit which was missing several hundred MBs under "Computer Memory", but interestingly under "Physical Memory" it reported there was 32768 MB installed, on two different lines, one had 3584 MB (ie 3.5 GB) on it, and the other 29184 MB (ie 28.5 GB).

So not a software problem I don't think, and likely to be a BIOS issue. It probably is of little consequence but it would be nice to know the BIOS and the OS are talking properly to each other.

The most likely explanation is that the missing RAM is hardware reserved but just not being reported properly.

No one else at all notice this?

Update to this, with the latest F7F 1.0.0.4 BIOS (X570 Master), the issue is resolved and Windows is now correctly reporting the total and hardware reserved memory.

Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.
