Hi guys!
I can not access the BIOS (F5) when my hd and ssd are connected. When I try the screen freezes in the gigabyte boot image. I need to restart. When only my ssd is connected I can access. Any solution?
Things I've tried:
- Another HD - Change cables - Tested other SATA ports - BIOS F6G, F6H -Clear CMOS ( battery and Jumper)

Same issue here with 2 of these boards. They crash once in the bios (after ver 4), no mouse movement or keyboard engagement. There is something seriously wrong with the boards I got. I knew right from the start when the mouse movement was very slow in the bios the product is not ready for prime time. They are going back and going with the ASUS.
I gave Gigabyte a try, too bad. Its a pretty board, thats about it.
Hoping an update is coming soon because the Memory Support list has gotten SHORTER on the Gigabyte site.
PC3200 has gone from 5 to 4 compatible RAM choices and the PC3000 has gone from 20 to 16 choices. Not boding well for this board.... Never seen this before.
Meanwhile the list grows for the other manufactures. Goodbye Gigabyte, never again!!
gustavolz : You should check HDD status (Health... Might be falling)
@fpghorn2 : Mouse movement in BIOS have nothing to do to anything. BIOS are know to be really bad at managing CPU resource in the BIOS. It can be normal to have laggy mouse or CPU warmer in BIOS than in OS (idle).
Try different USB port if they are just not working (Usually these on top by the PS2 port are the one you should plug mouse and keyboard).
Yeah I can confirm that the F6d BIOS has been pulled. Perhaps they are preparing for the official release. I hate it when my temperatures report 20C higher cause this messes with my fan settings.
Already post this info in the AM4 BIOS BETA thread but also here to give some feedback to everybody
GA - AB350 Gaming 3 with BIOS F6H
Ryzen 7 1700X (stock speed, no OC, Auto setting)
G.Skill Trident Z 3200Mhz @ 2133Mhz (C14 capable but system sets it at C15) 2x8GB
Sapphire Radeon RX 480 8GB OC (1342 Mhz stock speed, it comes OCed from factory)
Noctua NH-U12S and have 5 fans inside case (Thermaltake Armor A60) giving good ventilation and airflow
SSD Samsung EVO 840 500GB (Primary with OS)
SSD SanDisk Ultra II 960GB (Secondary
Windows 10 x64 (Creators Update with Game mode enabled)
Everything set on auto with optimized defaults.
System seems more estable than using F5, F6C and F6D. Before I got ramdom boots playing Battlefield 1 and Shadows of Mordor (with high res textures pack) at Ultra settings and any other game that stressed CPU (BF1 uses at least 7 cores at 30-50%).
Anyway I'm not able to boot if I change any Memory settings even to 2400Mhz (maybe I haven't found the right combination but I don't want to risk to brick my mobo os only tried to put 2400Mh on memory and the rest on auto and that doesn't work, so reverted to optimiced defaults)
With F6H still haven't got any ramdom reboot but maybe I haven't played enought time because with the other BIOSes tried (F5, F6C and F6D) got one every 2 or 3 hours, after continuous playing, always. With F6H I'played about 1 hour and a half and another 1 hour and 40 minutes.
It always happens with all above BIOSes, I got horrible CPU lag and stuttering after playing for a while (1 hour or so) during 30 seconds with Battlefield 1 (BF1 stresses CPU like no other) and it's not network, It's CPU, suddenly the CPU temperature rises about 10 or 15 degrees to almost 80 celsius and CPU use is about 10% higher during that lag and sttuttering, game is completely unplayable and alt+tabing is slow and gives sound problems and lags the rest of the programs even at 30% total CPU use.
It seems it's CPU that cannot handle SMT processes correctly (I have a Computer Science degree and have almost 25 years of experience using computers so I know about processors enoug to diagnosse a problem in CPU).
Ok, it could be Battlefield 1 but is doing something that causes CPU to stall and affect other programs, even the OS and the rest of the programs and even without having a full CPU use (only 30%)
Matt, Im bringing this topic here since this is the board I have:
Corsair 3000 would only boot 2200 stock.
Set XMP to 3000 will cause Bois to reset itself to default after several boot retries.
You might want to try the following and see if you can boot at 2666 MHZ (maybe aim for the Moon first instead of the Sun).
1) Make sure memory chips are seated all the way and plugged into the red memory slots on the MOBO 2) Make sure you are running F6G bios 3) Set XMP to OFF 4) Set Memory Multiplier to 26 5) Set Channel-A memory timings to Advanced Manual - with the following timings (16-18-18-18-36) 6) Set the MEMORY voltage to 1.35 (manually - instead of auto) 7) Save the settings and reboot
You'll know when the MOBO takes the ram settings as it'll reboot on the first try (afer saving, and rebooting) instead of doing the 3X bootloop (with the beeps), then falling back to 2133 MHZ as a failsafe on the 4th boot.
On my motherboard, if I don't set the memory voltage to 1.35 - I get the dreaded 3x bootloop (with beeps), then falls back to 2133. My RAM is rated at 1.20 volts @ 2666 MHZ per SPD.
Thanks Funks I tried everything and had to return the two motherboards today, got 1 Asus Prime 370 for the R7 and 1 MSI El cheapo $79.99 one for a upcoming R5. Theres great helpful people here and its too bad GigaByte did not deliver good bios's in time. The Asus does not boot with the memory @ above 2133 either but at least when I try and the bios self recovers, I can move my mouse and use the keyboard to move around.

I have ramdom reboot ramdom reboots after playing 2 or more hours, also CPU temperatures raises to 66 degress celsius even after reboot, is like the Mobo is not managing correctly FAN speed to decrease CPU temps and later goes down but after some minutes to 53 celsius
By the way, F6i have same ramdom reboot problem as all other BIOS, even more than F6H (my specs and config are posted before), if the thing doesn't change after the official AMD BIOS realease after april 11 I will RMA the motherboard, I't s completely unstable...
I have gigabyte ab350 - 3 and ryzen 1700, same RAM (hyperx 2400mhz, 2x16). What happens: random reboots with bsod, random freezes at start (tried to disable fast boot, will see if that helps) and random mouse lagging (even when idle). It is very annoying, I was decided to RMA it, but now I see, that many people have problems with am4 platform, so I don´t know if it solves anything.
When I tried to underclock memory it was even worse (crash right after boot and then freeze in bios). But I changed just memory speed, should I have done something more?
Any other suggestion. I would really like to like my new computer, but now I am just very angry about it and little bit desperate...
Thanks.
So, please, Gigabyte, take a look on this, and please when you release a BIOS tell us what things are solved, it's so frustrating to try to flash a BIOS that we don't know what fixes completely and going completely blind, even resulting on making things worse. I'm getting desperate with this motherboard and we are not getting addecuate response on this matter.
Yeah, F6H seemed more stable, at least there are less random reboots, I'll revert back this evening until a new official BIOS is launched, I'm tired of trying BIOSes that give me the same results, always unstable, always random reboots...

andreigrum wrote: Feb 18, 2021 8:42:19 GMT -8 Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.

I tried all F2x/F3x, same behavior. Even reset btn stops working, so I have to keep Pwr btn pressed 10 sec. Thanks in advance :
