I have the GA-AB350-GAMING 3 mobo (F5 BIOS) with a Ryzen 1700X along with 32-gigabytes of Patriot Ram (2 x 16 Gigabyte - these are DUAL RANK CHIPS). The board defaults to 2133 MHZ but if I try to enable XMP, or manually set the Multiplier to 24 (for 2400 MHZ), or 26 (for 2600 MHZ) - the motherboard just beeps (reboots a couple of times and goes back to 2133). Weird thing is that if I underclock the memory and set the Multiplier to 18 (1800 MHZ), or 16 (1600 MHZ) - does the exact same thing.
The Ram Chips Patriot Viper Elite Series Performance DDR4 PC4-22400 (#PVE432G280C6KGY) - runs at 1.2 volts. Per AMD docs, Dual Chanel mode with 2 Dual Rank Chips are supported officially up to 2400 MHZ (so I'm trying to get at least that).
In another note, is there a way to FLASH the backup BIOS with the latest firmware? I flashed the main bios to F5, I want to make sure the backup BIOS is also at the same revision.

Looks like it has the same problem - I flashed F3n, went into the BIOS then loaded BIOS defaults.
I tried setting just XMP Profile 1 (which sets it to 2666 MHZ) - after saving, the motherboard reboots - beeps three times (and boot loops a couple more time it seems) then I'm finally able to get back into the BIOS.
Even though the screen says it's set to 2666 MHZ, Windows (CPUZ) and the BIOS status screen only shows that it's running at 2100 MHZ.
Manually setting the Memory Multiplier to 24 (2400 MHZ) ends up with the 3 BEEP issue (eventually bots back up to 2100 MHZ). One thing that seems different though is that I can now downclock the memory multipler to 18 and it doesn't 3-BEEP and seems to stick.

BIOS version F6d was released recently with one of the notes being improved memory compatibility. Download page also strongly states it as a Beta version, so please share any performance changes / new bugs.
running the f6d beta bios - able to hit 2666 on memory , previously was only able to hit 2400 on my dual rank corsair vengeance lpx, selecting the xmp profile ( 2933 ) still doesn't past POST, but heading in the right direction ...

I have an AB350-Gaming 3, curently running the F6D BIOS. I am trying to add support for its Super-IO chips to the Linux kernel (to add hardware monitoring and watchdog support). Doing that, I am facing an odd problem when reading the chip's configuraton registers. Here are some examples.

The register at address 0x12 reported a bad value at the second attempt. This happens often enough to make readings unreliable. Something similar happens with the Super-IO chip at 0x4e/0x4f; in this case, the system may actually hang itself up hard when attempting to read the chip's configuration registers.
I would appreciate any hint that would help me to solve this mystery.

One thing I noticed, when setting memory timings - the motherboard doesn't like ODD CAS Latency, so when entering the value of 15, booting up on windows using CPUz - shows up as 16 instead. Additionally, the Command Rate is changing from 2T to 1T at 2666 MHZ and above (which probably ain't good).
In another note, CPUz 1.78.3 doesn't like the AMD RAID Driver - program stops at 65% when loading, 1.78.4 fixes the issue (available as a BETA).

So I noticed that the F6d beta BIOS has been removed from the support page for the mobo, can we expect an update soon with AMD's recent memory compatibility update?
