I'm running this board with the Ryzen 1700x.
Overall, the board is nice with some limitations that seem to be plaguing all AM4 chipset based board.
1. 4 Sticks of Ram do not work at correct speeds. The XMP Profile detects the correct settings, but the board will not post correctly when it's selected. You also can't enter the correct setting manually or it does the same thing. I expect a BIOS update to resolve this in the near future. I'd love to get my GSkill 32gb kit up the listed 3200mhz or somewhere close instead of being stuck at 2133mhz.
2. Where did Gigabyte hide the setting to disable the onboard audio and the unused network card? Seriously, I've been building PCs for over 20 years and I've always been able to disable the onboard audio, but there is no mention of the feature in the manual and I've gone through every setting in the BIOS... I think.
3. (Related to 2) Known good Sound Card is not recognizing in PCIEX1_1 or PCIEX4. I would rather use PCIEX1_1 as the Sound Card would block the fan in PCIEX8 if I used PCIEX4.
I have a support ticket for the above issues that hasn't been replied to in 3 days now which is a little concerning. Ticket # 361722. It still says new.
Other thoughts, I'd much rather see effort put into getting Ram Compatibility and Speed then some XSplit Broadcaster/Gamecaster 12 months premium license. Yes, I'm referring to the Beta F5d bios. At least the Gaming 5 has gotten some BIOS attention and I'm happy for that.
RAID setup was a little different, but I honestly haven't had an AMD setup since the Athon 64 days.
Windows 10 Pro installed without any issues.
I would recommend doing the leg work and getting updated drivers from AMD and Killer. Gigabyte doesn't house the most recent. There is also a review that said to be wary of the Asmedia 1.16.28.1 driver as it causes BSOD. I downloaded a more recent version from that motherboard company that starts with an A and charges way to much for there sh... crap. Yes, that one.
Again, the board is very nice overall and I'm quite happy to be back with AMD. I would say the same about Gigabyte, but I never left.

The AMD limitation on 4 DIMM's is going to be 2667 until we start playing with BCLK. You can try setting 2667 manually, including voltage, and see if it will boot.
Right now our BIOS team is almost exclusivity working on BIOS updates / memory compatibility. I'll post the latest BETA BIOS as soon as I get a new one (current is F5D).

Hi Matt. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.
I can confirm that 2667 works when I manually set the RAM to the settings listed.

I remember on my X79 Intel Gigabyte boards there was a setting further down that I had to set to 2 to get 3 Dimms to play nice. I can't remember exactly what it was, but there were like 15 settings to play with instead of just 4. Not a huge deal as maybe all the options will be available down the line.
The Sound Blaster Z is interesting. I can get it to detect in PCIEX1_1 and PCIEX4 if I power off the PC and unplug it for about 10 minutes. I did this on a recommendation on another forum. However, it is quite tempermental to say the least. I've disabled the Realtek and AMD Audio from the Video Card in Device Manager. The Sound Blaster will detect on some boots and not so much on others, or it detects, but thinks it's an older Recon3d instead of the Z. PCIEX4 seems to work better. I can get it to detect and work after a few boots. Could be a Chipset Driver issue?? I never got it to detect and work correctly in PCIEX1_1. It would only com up as a SPDIF (In think that's right) Currently, it's not detecting as I write this. I'm going to attempt to reinstall the Chipset Drivers from AMD.
Again, thanks for your response. I look forward to getting this board more dialed in and working on contributing more in the forums.

Hi, I'm running this board with the Ryzen 1700x. Great motherboard, i have the same RAM issue running with F5d BIos and will try to set manually. But i got a Asus GTX 1070 STRIX 8G GAMING 8Go GDDR5 work two days on the motherbaord Bios F4, then i have debug code error B2 and i have no display at all and cannot get in Bios, i test the 1070 on my old computer and i can acces Bios and my Windows desktop, i have a GTX970 from MSI test on the AX370Gaming 5 and work since one week now.
I flash bios once and it work for the GTX 1070 for one start, then i reflash and it work for one start also, then issue came back and since i'm not able to use this GTX1070 on the Gigabyte motherboard even after Flash and update BIos F5c then F5d. (i also test a lot of Bios config)
I'm going to ask a refund for my graphic card but i want to be sure the next one will work proberly.

Does the card work in the 8x slot? I had an issue getting a wifi card to recognize in the 1x slot. I put it in the 8x slot, installed the drivers, swapped it back, and havn't had any issues.
The 1070 was plug in the x16, and was working for two days. and the 970 work fine in the same port since 2 week now. I really wander what can cause a incompatibility between two hardware when you do not change something in BIOS.(if it's the issue, maybe it's something else but why she working on my very old computer .....?)
But yes maybe i should have try an other port but to late i get my reimboursment.
I will wait a bit for an answer or a Bios update before getting an other graphic card (Vega maybe )

Yes and No. I pulled one of my Fury cards and put the Sound Blaster into PCIEX8 and it did install and work after installing and drivers and restarting. However, after turning off the PC or restarting, the card would sometimes work and sometimes it would detect as a Recon3d and stop working.
Per your suggestion, I attempted to move the card to PCIEX1_1 post install. Once there, the card detected in device manager, but would not produce sound or detect as a SPDIF Device. It would also go back to thinking it was a Recon3d following a restart. I tested this with one Fury and the second Fury installed. This didn't seem to matter.
In then moved the card to PCIEX4. This blocks one of the fans on the Fury Nitros, so I'm not thrilled with it, but the card detects and works about 50% of the time. When it comes up as a Recon3d, I'm able to force the Z driver to install via Device Manager. After rebooting it will work again.
I would like to eventually run the card in the PCIEX1_1 slot though for cooling purposes.

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700, Display card: Geforce 1080TI
Loaded XMP profile and it can boot running 3200MHz c14 1.35v, however when putting it on load (e.g. running games for several seconds) system crash and reboot.
Tried with both BIOS version F3 and F5d.
Game runs fine if I disable XMP and put system to run 2400MHz c16 1.2v so pretty sure it's Mobo/RAM issue
Is this a known problem?
edit: memory is F4-3200C14D-16GFX, 2933MHz c15 1.3v is stable.No Overclock on CPU

Update:
I've given up on using the Sound Blaster Z for the moment. OnBoard will work for the moment because I need sound without having to physically remove and reseat the card before every use.
I'm running and f5e bios I got from Support. Some people appear to be using and f5f. Can someone share? Changes? I wasn't given anything with the f5e. Just try it was about it.
I can no longer restart or shutdown properly. PC goes to a black screen and hangs.
The Gigabyte CPU-Z freezes at 70% and never loads. Haven't tried the regular one.
Radeon Settings constantly freezes (Not Responding) when I try to switch between tabs, modify profiles, or scan for additional games. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing 17.3.1 chipset and the 17.3.3 Crimson drivers. I also went back to the 17.3.1 Crimson drivers... same thing. Could be a Crossfire thing. I haven't had a chance to try with a single Fury. Yes, clean installs and also removal with the display driver cleaner AMD recommends.
I'm patiently waiting on bios, driver, and Windows updates for something that helps iron out the bugs that seem to multiply the more I tinker with things.

Nice board overall. I'm running a 1700.
Current issues:
- no offset/pstate overclocking; traditional method of normal + offset voltage isn't working while in windows (event viewer errors about power state being disabled in firmware) - pretty bad dpc latency; causing some audio crackle and cut outs from the rear ports (haven't tested the front) - mouse movement in the bios causes my bclk to fluctuate from 100mhz up to 149mhz; also laggy mouse (I suspect these issues are tied to one another) - the intel 1211 NIC constantly shows up as a disconnectable USB device regardless of drivers; logging lots of event viewer errors in W10 - pretty awful post time compared to Z170/Z270, but I guess that's to be expected with such a new board and AMD having pushed up the release on the platform

Contacted G skill on the matter. The system can run stable at 2400MHz c16 1.2v (DDR4 standard) so they claim it is unlikely memory kits fault. They also suggested Manual setting to 2933MHz c15 1.3v which is stable.
edit: memory is F4-3200C14D-16GFX, no overclock of CPU
Opened a ticket at esupport and their response is less than stellar. Basically a canned response asking me to contact memory manufacturer and twiddle settings myself, WHILE claiming since I'm overclocking I'm pretty much on my own in this.
Really makes me question why paying double over a B350 if not trying to run @3200. ALSO, all the hassle of picking up a gigabyte board (They aren't the most plentiful when come to stock in local store around)
edit2: Now may be G skill are bull "xxx" and just put the blame on other when the memory is at fault. But at least they suggested something that's 1 step forward, huh?
