yes - so if you go to device manager and click on disc drives to see which driver is installed I am expecting you will see it is the AMD SATA driver. I replaced with the windows driver and have had no issues since. I'm currently running 10.0.19041.1
Interestingly the M2 drive and the 2 HDD drives installed by the PC supplier never had any problems. I suspect this is because they were installed before Windows
The xtreme doesn't have realtek. It has intel gbe which shouldn't have problems, the other is Aquantia 10gbe which has been problematic on every single board its ever been built into, from every manufacturer. Again I don't know if the issue is so much with the adapters/chips or if its drivers, or firmware, or OS. But it seems like every built in chip that is faster than gigabit has had problems at some point.
Sorry yeah, I got mixed up. I was thinking of the audio chip which is Realtek in the Xtreme. Yes the Aquantia network chip is useless.

Hmm, unfortunately, when i looked at what driver the drives use, they already appeared to use the Windows driver, as version that you specified (10.0.19041.1), dating back from 2006 or something.
I couldn't find any SATA/SSD or HDD specific AMD driver present on my system....
Does anyone perhaps have another suggestion what might be causing the uninitialisation of the drivers after using RGB Fusion ?
OK - changing to windows driver worked for me. The 2006 date is incorrect. I'm not sure but maybe 1904 means it is Win 10 April 2019 ?
I am pretty certain I changed nothing else and after changing the driver I've had no further problems. Maybe it is the action of changing the driver that causes the system to remember the drive? I can't recall whether I uninstalled the AMD driver and then installed the Win 10 driver. However, maybe you could try installing the AMD driver and see what happens. And if that doesn't help reinstall the windows driver
I see that there is still a large number of posts on different sites with the same uninitialising issue and no solutions
All I can say is that I definitely had this issue and now I definitely (? not wishing to tempt fate) don't. And all I did was change the driver.
I thought that the driver was the solution, yet maybe it isn't. So have no certainty with whether my suggestion to swap to AMD (and then maybe back) will help and am not speaking with any authority - but seems a sensible suggestion and worth a try and hopefully will help.
I don't believe it's related to RGB fusion. That is still installed on my system (although I did uninstall and reinstall at some point). The App centre definitely caused windows problems - so uninstalled that and all associated utilities.
I also had to rebuild my windows profile at some point.
As a workaround to the uninitialising discs I did think about an external drive or NAS (maybe capitalising on the 10Gb Lan), as my system drive was not uninstalling. But then the 10GB aquantia chip on amd boards seems to have issues also
I think it can be appreciated that ownership has not been easy and remains a challenge. These boards seem an user-friendly as a cornered rat. I look forward to my salary from Gigabyte for doing their work for them and the loss of productivity I have incurred..............
i just recently build two systems (5950x + X570 Xtreme + 4x8Gb 3600Mhz) and (5900x + X570 Master + 2x16Gb 3600). The 5950x system needed bios F31 to work well with the ram in XMP, before that i was stuck at 3200Mhz. The 5900x System of my buddy is not working till that day, also stuck @3200mhz.
100% sure that your system and ram is fine, you'll just have to wait for BIOS F32 or higher. For me thankfully F31 resolved the issue.
Hey guys, running the latest Bios on the x570 xtreme. Recently replaced my 3900x with a 5950x. Rebuilt the system as well with a 1200w power supply. Up until the rebuild the motherboard worked fine, and it still does for the most part but now about every other day when I get home from work and boot the PC, the bios resets. I've tried a cmos reset but no go. Is this an issue with the 5000 cpus? Im not sure what could happen over certain nights to make the bios need to reset when I boot it up

When I got my Xtreme I bought a 1300W Seasonic PSU. I had major problems with it, including BIOS resets after sleep. Switching back to my existing 850W NZXT unit, everything worked fine again. Maybe these boards have issues with high-output PSUs?

You're looking at the wrong driver...;) You're looking at the Microsoft disk-driver for all disks in general--used for formatting, etc.
Open Device Manager, find your "IDE/ATA/ATAPI Controller" entry and open it. If it says AMD SATA you have the wrong driver installed. It should say "Standard SATA AHCI controller"--that's the one AMD says to use.
The AMD SATA driver should be removed from your system--it dates to 2015 and AMD states it is incompatible with Win10. If you find Win10 keeps installing it for some reason, you need to remove it entirely from your system. I had to do that, actually--now the system properly defaults to the Microsoft driver, the "standard AHCI controller" driver.
Also, drivers for your .M2 NVMe's are also located in the device manager, under the heading "Storage Controllers." Interestingly enough, my 960 EVE NVMe (PCIe3) drive uses a custom Samsung driver; whereas my 980 Pro (PCie4) uses the standard Microsoft NVMe driver, the "standard NVM Express controller" driver. It doesn't appear as if Samsung has any plans to create any custom 980 Pro drivers at this time.

I'm getting a 980 Pro soon (hopefully), the latest Samsung driver is v3.3 which doesn't list support for the 980. Is it worth uninstalling the Samsung driver before changing the drive? I have a 960 Pro and a 970 Pro

Are you going to keep your PCIe3 NVMe drives? If so, then don't uninstall the 3.3 driver because it's the best driver for those drives. When you install the 980 Pro the system will automatically install the Microsoft driver, the "Standard NVMe Express Controller" driver, in addition to keeping the 3.3 Samsung driver for your older, PCIe3 drives. (That's exactly how I installed my 980 Pro, in fact.)
