Bios F30 should be avoided. I have experienced multiple issues over the last few days of testing. However I have had 3 times since flashing when the computer froze during normal use. Case power buttons would not respond to reset or power down when holding the power button down. After shutting off the power supply the system appeared dead. Power button on the case did nothing, onboard power button on my master did nothing. clear cmos did nothing. Had to disconnect power and remove the battery. After that the case power buttons still did not work, only the onboard power button. Did a clear cmos, again and case power buttons did not work, still only onboard. Ran for a few hours and left it running overnight to download a game. Woke up this morning to the computer frozen again. Power buttons not responding, shut off the power supply and system played dead again until I pulled the battery. Still wouldnt respond to case buttons but onboard power button worked. Did another clear cmos and rebooted into qflash and reflashed F22. After finishing the F22 flash the system rebooted and still would not POST, and was rolling through the post codes on the qcode readout very slowly. About 1 code every 2 seconds. After another clear cmos everything seems to be back to normal on F22.
Other issues were mostly ram related. XMP not working correctly, manual memory speeds and timings not working correctly. Cold boot would occasionally boot, it would run for about 3 seconds power down and them boot normally.
My biggest concern here is that someone with a board that does not have onboard power buttons is going to end up with a bricked board that will not boot. Perhaps it will start working again if power is removed and the battery is taken out for a while but I don't think its worth the risk. This could be limited to people with ryzen 2000 cpu's or which would be very few people, or it could be some combination of hardware I am using. But you have been warned. If anyone experiences this issue hopefully this will help get you running again.
All Boards are on the same bios revision currently and the change log is the same for all boards.
Issues:
F20 has issues with going to sleep properly and waking from sleep. System may freeze or not go to sleep.
Change Log:
Update AMD AGESA ComboV2 1.0.0.2 for 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen XT series processors and New Gen AMD Ryzen with Radeon Graphics processors support Fix AMD security vulnerabilities for SMM Callout Privilege Escalation
Q: What is different about a test (T#x) BIOS and beta (F#x) BIOS?
A: Test BIOS are usually reserved for internal testing. They are to test experimental features. These features may or may not make it to a BETA or even production BIOS.
Q: Why isn't there a test BIOS for my board?
A: Typically test BIOS are only on master boards. If the test goes well and we decide to implement the feature we will create a BETA bios for other applicable boards shortly after the test has concluded.
Q: XMP doesn't work!
Using slot A2/B2 - From CPU skip a slot, RAM, skip a slot, RAM. I cannot emphasize this enough. If you are helping someone T/S a problem this should be your first question.
Flash the latest BIOS
For debugging RAM please keep everything else default. Let us know what RAM you are using so we can look further.
Q: My RAM voltage goes to 1.2V when setting a CPU multiplier.
Your OC is too high or unstable. Try lowering the CPU multiplier and/or raising Vcore.
Q: I dont see my BIOS on the webpage!!!
We have tons of servers worldwide. If you don't see a file, or get access denied, it means the file hasn't propagated there yet. You need to go to the global page...
Here is an example of the US page: gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/X570-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10/ Here is an example of the global page: gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X570-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10/
Notice the only difference is the "/US". Simply remove that. For EU remove "/EU", etc... If you get the access denied message try the ASIA server. Its the same file, just a different mirror!

I can't boost past 4200 at all on the 3900x using the Master.
More importantly, is there ANY way to control the chipset, that thing is obnoxious. It wont go below 4000 rpms and it is REALLY high pitch. Using the noise meter on the board it is saying to inside of my case is 62dB and that is ALL coming from the chipset fan....

Try F5E, also try uninstalling Ryzen master.
As for the fan speed we should have an update this week (maybe tomorrow?) with fan profiles that cut the noise in half.

I am currently on F5e, but I have also tried F5c and it still will not boost past 4.2 (4.25 to be exact). It will all core boost to 4.2 but will not single core boost to anything higher.
Edit: have also tried removing Ryzen master. Monitoring clocks in HwInfo and same results.

Try F4. It doesn't have SMU patch and may work better until new AGESA.

Hmmm...I installed an x570 Master and 3600x on Tuesday 7/9 and I need a hearing aid to hear the chipset fan--can't hear it at all. It's not supposed to run at all except under certain conditions, IIRC. Bios F3. Edit: Installed bios F4 today without difficulty.

I just read a blurb here concerning the beta bios versions--for testing purposes only--would advise dropping back to non-beta bios F4 or even F3 (I'm on F3 and it's very nice, actually.) My 3600x boosts to 4.4+GHz without a problem.

do all of these issues only apply to the master board ? what about the X570 AORUS Ultra ? Thank you
So far I have no issues with the x570 Master... Indeed, so far I can say it's the best mboard I've ever owned, and I've been buying them for > 30 years... When people install beta bios versions it's like flipping a coin on any platform and is generally a very bad idea for a number of reasons. Check the first two posts in the thread...seems fairly clear to me...!

does anyone have the bitspower or EK monoblock for this motherboard? Is it worth the money?

I moved that drive to another computer and copied over all data I wanted to keep and did a clean install.

desaccorde wrote: Jan 15, 2021 0:50:15 GMT -8 300 Series MUST be supported, no other way. MSI supports it. They may think they're pushing their customers for a premature upgrade, but guess what? Even if I upgrade, I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte board. Me and all my close friends will never buy Gig again.
johnyb0y wrote: Jan 14, 2021 4:58:11 GMT -8 @gigabyte, I've personally built with half a dozen of your boards and recommended you at least 5 times last year. This will stop if you screw Z390 users with not supporting Re-BAR.*
