Card: 6GB Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti Gaming G1 Aktiv PCIe 3.0 x16
After 3 years and 4 months my gpu just died. I played some Mordhau on Ultra and recorded a short video with OBS. Once the video was done i wanted to close OBS to continue playing. As soon as i hit the exit button from OBS the screen went black.
After some research i could clearly say its the GPU which died but strangely the fans and lights on the card still work via PCIe and it still gets recognised in the mainboard bios as an occupied NVIDIA PCIe slot and it still tries to get the graphic signal from the card before anything else (display stays black after mainboard bootup picture came).
Since its now a dead card and out of warranty i checked the PCB and found a burned area/short?
Is there something that can be done here?
I do some basic soldering and play around with breadboards but this is clearly beyong my skills&knowledge.
GPU repairs doesnt seem to be common and i didnt find an official repair shop for that yet in germany or even a spe"xxx"ed one international.
I thought that nearly 700€ would bring be further than 3 years
