Flashed the new b19.0606.1 v817 x470 gaming 7 v1.0 and everything appears to be working normally again. I didnt think to check and see if the led post codes were normal or not but the audio is working. There was no defaulting to the backup bios after the flash either. When I tried to flash it using the ecfwupdate.exe it told me i didnt need to update, which is weird since I know I as on v678. Had to set autoflash to 0 in the uiset.ini (right click>edit>notepad)and flash manually with the ifu_xe32_v1310.exe you can also just copy the .bin you want over to the 1090 tool and flash it with that without editing anything.
So did you run the tool in Auto Flash or did you manually flash it? I see you have the board up from mine, and it set me at v684. Curious why yours would take v817. Is that the correct version for mine?

Me too, I was told that I didn't need to flash when I run ecfwupdate.exe. So I prefered to wait your feedback. I'll try to update manually then.

The auto flash told me I didn't need an update, so I manually flashed it to v817 just to test if it worked. I have been on the computer about 8 hours total since last night and several reboots and have had no issues with it so far. Not sure what version is the correct version for which boards. I don't even know for sure which chip it is flashing, but I am guessing its the super I/O and will possibly vary based on the super I/O chip on the boards, but it could also be the chip located at under the bottom m.2 slot. my x470 gaming 7 uses the ITEIT8686E for the super I/O. There are several ITE chips on the board, but one of them is for controlling RGB, and the others I think are for temp and fan control .
I know when I flashed v684 on my board previously that my audio went away after a few reboots, but its possible that on a gaming ultra or gaming 5 that the v684 is the correct file. I would have to look up some reviews or images to see if there are any differences in the super i/o or anything else and even then it would just be guessing. There is too little info about this coming from gigabyte.

That may be true, but I have a feeling that this may be the root of the audio problems on the x470 gaming 7 that we have had since day one. If it inadvertently fixes that I will be very happy.

That I can't really help with since I use the sound blaster, never used onboard sound and never will. A dedicated sound card will always have far superior sound and processing capabilities, but that said I hope your onboard sound issues gets sorted out. My issue is Im upgrading to 32GB of memory using 4 dimms and I don't want any problems.Even calling Gigabyte was of little use in my opinion, I will just wait until I get a 3900X and hopefully I don't have issues. If I do I guess I will deal with it at that time.

Wow! We are flashing chips using guesswork in complete darkness now. What a "xxx" show. And not a single comment from support. I guess support can't even understand English, that's the only logical explanation I can come up with. Worst of all, this board suppose to be the best of the best of their AMD boards. We paid premium tax for it. Now all I can think of is getting rid of it ASAP no matter what and stay away from Gigabyte for the rest of my life.

When you open the folder you will see a file named uiset.ini. You need to right clock and open with notepad if you have never tried to edit an ini flile before. Then you need edit the file and set autoflash to 0 in the uiset.ini and flash manually with the ifu_xe32_v1310.exe you can also just copy the .bin you want over to the 1090 tool that was posted earlier in the thread and flash it with that without editing anything.

Running an AX370 Gaming K7 here with an 1800X on BIOS F7a. (Actually, ket's modified F7aM)
Out of curiosity, I downloaded the B19.0606.1 updater, edited uiset.ini to set AutoFlash=0, then ran the ifu_xe32_v1310.exe to check what my current ROM checksum was. "Setting" tab -> "Checksum Test" section -> clicked "Get" button for "ROM"
It returned "12130186", then ungracefully hard reset the system ~10 seconds later.
So, who knows what actual version is running on my board. All I know is that with F7a things have been running great, even with 4x8GB b-die DIMMs at 3200MHz 14-14-14-28.
I'd really like to be able to upgrade to a 3900X at some point down the road (running stock, no OC, so not pushing the VRM hard) but I'm honestly fairly scared of anything around Gigabyte's UEFI/firmware updates at this point.
I don't use AppCenter or any of the associated utilities, as they seem buggy and destabilizing as all get-out. I just control the RGB from within the UEFI settings and call it good.

Change to "FW VERSION SHOW=1" in uiset.ini. Then it will show you what version is running on your board.

trying to show the version will force a reboot, but you can see what version you have for a few seconds before it reboots. I had my phone out and snapped a pic when it popped up.

does anyone have the bitspower or EK monoblock for this motherboard? Is it worth the money?

I moved that drive to another computer and copied over all data I wanted to keep and did a clean install.

desaccorde wrote: Jan 15, 2021 0:50:15 GMT -8 300 Series MUST be supported, no other way. MSI supports it. They may think they're pushing their customers for a premature upgrade, but guess what? Even if I upgrade, I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte board. Me and all my close friends will never buy Gig again.
johnyb0y wrote: Jan 14, 2021 4:58:11 GMT -8 @gigabyte, I've personally built with half a dozen of your boards and recommended you at least 5 times last year. This will stop if you screw Z390 users with not supporting Re-BAR.*
