There is a Creative discussion group at Reddit regarding Sound Blaster products,Creative doesn’t have a dedicated forum anymore. But there are numerous problems with XFI cards ,but in regards to the Windows 1903, nothing that I have seen regarding this EC FW Update put out by Gigabyte. Creative has been putting out updated drivers for certain XFI cards.

Would be nice if we knew what version it was before we ran the tool. It would be even better if someone from Gigabyte would shed some light on this mystery tool we were told to run after most of us already upgraded to the F40 bios. Gigabytes support is really lacking.

I have AB350-Gaming 3 with F31 BIOS, I've tried this EC FW Update Tool Results: 1. Flashing, observed creation of file with "PASS". Automatic hard reboot. 2. Automatic boot on backup BIOS (F6) 3. Manual switch to main BIOS (F31) 4. Manual setup of BIOS and boot to Windows 19H1 5. Run EC FW Update Tool again 6. Repeat of step 1/2/3/4 5. USB and onboard audio: OK. Volume OK. 6. Clean unpacking of "mb_utility_ecfwupdate_B19.0517.1" achive 7. Edit "uiset.ini" file: 7a. "FW VERSION SHOW=1" 7b. "AutoFlash=0" 7c. "Warring Show=1" 8. Run "ECFwUpdate" again. 8. So it updates IT8733 chip. My FW version is 6.23. Don't know what version was before. 9. ECFwUpdate updates "BinName" string in "uiset.ini". (detection before flash) 10. In "IFU_XE32_v1310" I've selected "Load *Bin" and pointed to "V623.bin" 11. Switch to setting, used buttons "Get BIN" and "Get ROM". 12. Same values, so I probably have good version. 13. Sudden automatic hard reboot - repeat of step 2/3/4 14. Probably "ECFwUpdate" or "IFU_XE32_v1310" is forcing weird resets even without flashing.
Summarizing: Gigabyte should explain users what they are doing with this tools, and make them more user friendly. I work in R&D (embedded systems), so I'm familiar with that kind of tools, but I will never give them to users without good explanation and information what can they expect after running them. Sudden black screen and switching to backup BIOS is just bad.

Gigabyte is still radio silent on this, eh? Looks like I'll be buying from a different manufacturer when it comes to purchasing my x570 board. A SHAME too, as it appears Gigabyte will AGAIN be the leaders in regards VRM design and featuring ACTUAL fin-stack heatsinks on said VRMs.
My plan was to sell my current 2600x+Gaming 7 WiFi+DRAM this week before prices drop, then buy a whole new setup for x570+Zen2. NEED a fix for this issue before I can do that. Selling a motherboard with dead on-board audio is basically a no-go

found this on a german website/forum, can anyone confirm it? Since I'm from Brazil and I bought my board on a trip in USA, I don't have a support tech here (as far as i know).
"New problem is now the bad socket for the loudspeaker (green). The volume is heavily throttled and that seems to be a well-known problem. Now I have the solutions to find in the network through and have the line out (blue) assigned as speaker output. Is there a correct solution in the meantime?"
"Kudos to tech support. Phone problem described and helped to the end. Now everything works with the sound again."
used translator Germany to Englisn, and the answer is from today!

I sent a pm to the guy that got his sound fixed since I was not allowed to reply his post..
also, I opened a ticket on Gigabyte Web Support from Brazil and the answer I got was basically 'Try to downgrade to F31 and see if works'.. no, doesn't work..
I was almost buying offboard sound card (since its been over a week with no response) or buying and USB headset, then I found this post and give it a try.
IT WORKS! I finally have my green sound output working again. I dont know if I will have any side effects, but until now its all working.
You can also try our discord if you need help. Link at the bottom of my signature.
Got a response from gigabyte USA. They are not able to recreate the ram speed issue, but said they forwarded the firmware issue on to the tech team to look into further. I will let you guys know more when I hear anything else.
My Signature... I do not work for gigabyte. My advice and opinions are my own.

It works for me but only with the latest driver for realtek (https://www.mediafire.com/file/ed5n8i90o2qvf54/8710_FF00_PG473_Win10_RS3_RS4_RS5_19H1_Win7_WHQL.zip/file)
PD: I normally use the old R2.82 from the page because i need the stereo mix and it doesnt work with the latest drivers, if anyone knows how to fix this i appreciate so much.

If you truly like good sound for gaming or music, buy a dedicated sound card like the Sound Blaster Z series or AE5 series. Onboard sound is great if you cant afford anything else, but can not compare to a dedicated sound card.

Thanks, it would be nice to know what version of the EC we should be at, and what it means if we ran the tool after updating to he F40 bios. After all it was almost a week after that they posted this tool so too little too late.

does anyone have the bitspower or EK monoblock for this motherboard? Is it worth the money?
intender wrote: Jan 19, 2021 11:55:39 GMT -8 lima567 this is a windows 10 20h2 issue. I had the same thing on one of my computers. I was never able to get logged back into my account on that PC. I moved that drive to another computer and copied over all data I wanted to keep and did a clean install.

desaccorde wrote: Jan 15, 2021 0:50:15 GMT -8 300 Series MUST be supported, no other way. MSI supports it. They may think they're pushing their customers for a premature upgrade, but guess what? Even if I upgrade, I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte board. Me and all my close friends will never buy Gig again.
johnyb0y wrote: Jan 14, 2021 4:58:11 GMT -8 @gigabyte, I've personally built with half a dozen of your boards and recommended you at least 5 times last year. This will stop if you screw Z390 users with not supporting Re-BAR.*
