X299, 7900X, AORUS Gaming 7
Hi:
I am an owner of the Gigabyte X299 Aorus Gaming 7 Motherboard. I have been using this motherboard for few months and updated the BIOS version at least 7 times.
The common big problem on the Gigabyte board is the BIOS auto reset problem. I confirm that my on-board battery has no problem. Almost every time after I power off my pc, and power on next day, the BIOS automatically loads optimized default settings. This not only happens to me. I hope you company can take a deep look into this case. It's not just about a single board or a model. It happens almost all boards. My overclocking setting is totally no problem. It runs perfectly without any problems. Just power on after power off for like one night, the next morning, it will be default settings. I am so confused. Please fix it.
I now have to load my setting profiles every time, every day I power on my computer. This is like the worst thing I have to repeat every single day. I need this solved as soon as possible.
I'm having the exact same issue but not as frequent. It's happened to me a hand full of times since I picked the board up at the time of release. I'm running the latest F7 bios. Sometimes my bios will be set to default for no reason.
I had my bios reset again randomly. I had my computer off for a few days and when I turned it on, my fans were spinning really slow and when I booted into windows my CPU was stock speed.
Please Gigabyte, what is going on here?
Could you please look into this and provide us an answer?
Second its possible that your overclock settings are stable in windows but failing at POST. I had the same problem and upping the ddr training voltage fixed the problem for me. I have mine set to 1.4v right now.
My Signature... I do not work for gigabyte. My advice and opinions are my own.

Hey, thanks for your suggestion. I’ve had this issue from the start. I’m using an Aorus x299 gaming 9 motherboard and I’ve tried both of suggestions. I even ran Default settings with a small settings change ( fan speed). The BIOS still resets.
I’ve narrowed down to what could be the root of the problem and I’ve noticed that there are the system is switching BIOS chips because the settings and Bios version I’ve loaded on one chip dissaears on the next boot up hence I had to update the BIOS version the second time and entered my settings again but under a different name to confirm my suspicions. When I shutdown and started my PC, it went back to the first BIOS.
I’ve reported this to Gigabyte support and they were extremely unhelpful and told me “BIOS CMOS resets” are normal and there wasn’t anything wrong my Motherboard, they also told me that the BIOS switching between chips is impossible.
This is pretty pathetic for a high end motherboard.

You must have a serious problem with your main bios, causing the second one to boot after the failure of the first one.
If both bios's failed, u could use Qflash plus, to update them with the latest version.

Why don't u rma the board???
I live in the UAE and I bought the motherboard from newegg. The shipping costs are quite substantial to the point where I’d rather buy a new motherboard.

Contact Gigabyte to check if it is possible to rma directly to them if their offices are closer.

I have a X299 AORUS Ultra Gaming Pro and it is also suffering from BIOS reset when I turn the power supply off. I like to power down my setup with on my power block to conserve some energy and now I can't. I moved the power plug to the AC outlet directly so that it will keep the AC up all the time. However, yesterday the power in my area went down for less than a minute and the BIOS was reset again.
I replaced the CMOS battery but it still resets when AC power is set off. I am beginning to think it is the Mobo. I don't want to RMA the mobo because I already did that and it took 3 months to get the replacement mobo. I don't want to go through that again.

It happens to me all the time. I have to keep the PC connected to power all the time and if there is a glitch, it resets the BIOS back to default. I replaced the battery and it still does. I also measured the voltage of the battery off the socket and it reads 3.39 Volts. I place it in the socket and it measures 2.9 with power supply off, and 3.4 if the PS Switch is on. Something is wrong as it should not drop that much. BTW, this is a replacement Mobo that I received because the other one I had went bad. I decided to upgrade my PD and use this "Refurbished Mobo" and it turns out Gigabyte sent me a defective Mobo. I don't want to ask for RMA because the previous time took over 3 months to get the replacement one after 3 weeks waiting for decision to replace the mobo. The service is not that good. But I know, it is COVID.
I hope I hear something here as to possible cause.

andreigrum wrote: Feb 18, 2021 8:42:19 GMT -8 Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.

I tried all F2x/F3x, same behavior. Even reset btn stops working, so I have to keep Pwr btn pressed 10 sec. Thanks in advance :
