The problem I am having is that the memory works at 3200 speed, but only with one memory module installed at a time. When two memory sticks are installed I cannot pass memtest86 running from a usb drive. However, I can pass memtest86 when running dual channel at 2100 Mhz speed. (Aside: the memtest86 report says the RAM is running at 2100 Mhz @ 1.2V, but it is really running at 3200 Mhz @ 1.35V. This is a BIOS bug as many program, including Gigabyte's SIV do not report accurate memory speed or voltage values: only default SPD values.)
The only change I am making after loading defaults is setting the XMP Profile to Profile1: everything else is stock defaults.
I did try the new EZTUNE Overclock at 3200DDR, but this resulted in memory running at 2100 Mhz. Reading through this forum (just found it - and thanks guys) I will try selecting XMP Profile 1 and down clocking to more than 2100 and less than 3200. Fortunately, the system is stable (passes memtest86 with the 1700 at 3.7 GHz and default 2100 DDR4 speeds. Workable, but not where it needs to be...
So there are a few issues here:
1) Does not support dual channel memory at 3200 Mhz for CMKGX4M23200C16 well enough to pass memtest86.
2) EZ Overclocker does not work for CMKGX4M23200C16 at 3200 Mhz and nerfs my CPU OC
3) Does not report the actual SPD values being used to other utilities
4) Attempts to set memory timing values directly to XMP values resulted in the same memtest errors
Power supply is good as I was using in my prior system (Seasonic G650). Using the stock heatsink/fan on Full, for now.
