AX370 Gaming7 Aorus
Are you talking about the Corsair LPX 3200? Can you indicate. I've been having similar regression with the the AGESA 1006 BIOS on the K7. The RAM worked previously with 1004 and still is on QVL. On 1006 it can pass some memory tests but it'll eventually crash in long play session (Overwatch) with a memory related BSOD code. Going back to 1004 fixes it.
I did some investigation with the Ryzen memory timing reader app and it looks like 1004 cranks up tRC to 75 (from 54 that's in XMP profile). GIGABYTE - Matt is this a regression in some special hacks that were removed from BIOS in 1006?
In a big hardware community the number of offered gigabyte am4 Mainboards that are being sold as used is already growing... Even myself is thinking about contacting my place if purchase. It's a pity because the hardware itself still is exactly what I wanted. Could you just give as some hint whether the soft brick issue is still on GB's agenda. I think that would be sufficient for many of us. We all know that finding such seemingly random bugs can be a headache...
Thank you!
Where are these used mb's at? I'd love to get a cheaper gaming 5 to replace an Asus prime that's giving me fits. Ebay didn’t show a single used board for sale.

Whats the progress on fixing softbrick? It is really frustrating to stumble upon PC refusing to start up when you really need to use it fast, knowing, you have to tear it open, remove CMOS battery and PSU cables for a while when time is really of the essence ^^
I really hope you could fix this issue ASAP as its the only issue that is really annoying.
So, on my K7, if I install SB drivers, it says no SB card installed. If I install Realtek drivers, i get a nice interface. How do i use the Creative driver package?

Do not mess this problems.
That fact, that creative souncards doesn't detected by system on every boot hardly related to that fact, that you cannot install soundblaster driver for realtek ALC1220 codec.
I think, you are talking about declared support for Sound Blaster X-Fi MB5 (software, not hardware. it' doesn't mean that there is any creative chips on board) for this mb, and this is another issue.
Any way, i mainly run linux, so, i cannot even hope that any creative technologies will work :-D But i'll try to install Creative SB X-Fi driver later on windows.
Since the orginal thread had been deleted I thought to bring back this snippet from saunderz. It allowed me to boot into these settings, but alas a game like Overwatch still crashed. -Brent
"Try these settings. I have the same RAM spent quite a while try and erroring and eventually found settings that boot first time every time, stable in Windows and running at the rated timings (except for tRC which needed to be raised slightly). Screenshots are below if you want to see all my settings related to memory."
Memory Timing Page (Do this for both channels) CAS Latency: 16 tRCDRD: 18 tRCDWR: 18 tRP: 18 tRAS: 36 tRC: 56
Voltage Page Dynamic VCORE SOC (DVDID): +.018V DRAM Voltage (CH A/B): 1.370V
Trying to apply this to my ram, but dynamic vcore soc is greyed out, I googled it and seen there was a post about getting it unlocked in the other thread, but for some reason the archive wont let me jump to that page(103, for those curious.)
Im using g.skill ripjaws F4-3200C16D-16GVK and an x370 gaming 5. anytime I change settings my board bootloops. no matter the bios. I want to move my ram over, but using the be quiet dark rock pro which covers the slots makes it a real pain to move the ram, since I have to pull the cooler. the dimms are currently in slots 2 and 4. maybe switching to 1 and 3 will change something?

Update, so I reseated my cpu and moved the Simms over to slots 1 and 3, I got the memory to boot at 2933 using the xmp profile and clocking down. I managed to post once at 3200mhz by bumping the voltage from 1.35 to 1.45, but the computer crashed quick and I reverted to 2933. I'm now 2 and a half hours into memtest86, and no errors so far.

Thanks for this, got my corsair 16gb 3200 LPX C16 v4.24 (think it's samsung E-die) working at 2933mhz using these settings w/ tRC on auto.
On the latest F6 bios for the Gaming 5 board. XMP doesn't work (multiple rebooting/reverts), but I'll probably give 3200 a try manually later on; although I'm fine with 2933 for now

Comically I forgot to mention I haven't had my sound detected in some time, I use a USB dongle for sound and also am on Linux.
To the guy with the softbricking, I haven't had it happen since I oc'ed my processor too. I won't suggest trying it or you may already be doing that and having it happen too.

Linux has support for realtek alc 1220 only since 4.11 kernel and in 4.12 there will be some improvments for MBs with dual codecs (like K7)

Did anyone notice voltage going up to 1.55 and amps going up to 250, causing CPU to draw almost 400W? I think it happened only for a split second but it still got picked up by HWiNFO.
1.55V picked up by Cpu Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN) and 248.363 A picked up by CPU Core Current (SVI2 TFN)
2.744V picked up by Cpu Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN)
It never happened with my old settings which is 3525 MHz, 1.125V, LLC Auto. My current settings are 3596 MHz, 1.143V, LLC Turbo.
I know voltage can spike up to 1.55V with XFR enabled, however I'm not using turbo and my clocks can only go up to values that I set (so 3596 MHz).
You can see that VRMs are most likely working correctly - taking about 12V and outputing ~1.131 - 1.143V without that spike. Does that mean the voltage boost/wrong reading is caused after the VRM output and before the CPU takes it?
Is this happening for anyone? Are you using LLC? Is it known or am I doing anything wrong? I have decent PSU - Corsair RM750x and as I said before - it never happened with old settings, which lead me to thinking that LLC is the thing causing this.

does anyone have the bitspower or EK monoblock for this motherboard? Is it worth the money?
intender wrote: Jan 19, 2021 11:55:39 GMT -8 lima567 this is a windows 10 20h2 issue. I had the same thing on one of my computers. I was never able to get logged back into my account on that PC. I moved that drive to another computer and copied over all data I wanted to keep and did a clean install.

sozehh wrote: Jan 16, 2021 10:58:58 GMT -8 joeym ofc i've done it, signed and trying to spread the petition, gigabyte do your work please and add resizable bar for intel 300 series, it is not an old product, people like me spent 800 euros on aorus xtreme, don't tell me i have already an outdated mb
joeym wrote: Jan 16, 2021 7:15:27 GMT -8 I would strongly recommend that anyone who hasn't already signed the petition do so now. If you already signed it, please share it! This may help encourage all other motherboard manufacturers to follow suite. Link to the petition: chng.it/LKLksG4yQv

desaccorde wrote: Jan 15, 2021 0:50:15 GMT -8 300 Series MUST be supported, no other way. MSI supports it. They may think they're pushing their customers for a premature upgrade, but guess what? Even if I upgrade, I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte board. Me and all my close friends will never buy Gig again.
johnyb0y wrote: Jan 14, 2021 4:58:11 GMT -8 @gigabyte, I've personally built with half a dozen of your boards and recommended you at least 5 times last year. This will stop if you screw Z390 users with not supporting Re-BAR.*
