Hi everyone,
My first post here.
I bought my Z490 Aorus Master in June 2020. As we know, the Intel I225v ethernet chip has hardware issues and so far there have been 3 revisions released - B1, B2 and B3. B3 is supposed to fix all the issues (disconnects, packet loss, speed drops), B2 at least some and B1 is the original chip with all the problems.
I did experience the 'no ethernet cable detected' issues until I updated the I225v firmware to 1.45 and the driver to 1.0.1.8 but I have no means of checking how much of the 2.5 Gb/s the update reduces.
In reality this is not an issue for me but it still sucks to know that I bought one of Z490 flagship motherboards that has a faulty ethernet chip - I know I have the B1 revision.
My questions is - has anyone received their Z490 Aorus motherboard (or any other Gigabyte Z490 that uses I225v) with the B2 or B3 revisions of the controller? B3 has been manufactured since November 2020 only apparently.
You can check by going to the device manager and checking the controller name. The number in parentheses (1), (2), (3) indicates the version you have. E.g. Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (2) I225-V
I am just wondering how many of us are stuck with the first revision (the buggiest) controller and it is a quick check.
Thanks a lot!
