Hi,

I've builded a new PC with a Gigabyte Z490 Vision D motherboard. I flashed the bios with the F7c version using Q-Flash directly on the motherboard (I read here that the F20a version was problematic).

Everything is in place: CPU, RAM, GPU, M.2, SSD, WIFI card.

The only thing I'm missing right now, and I know it's strange, is a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse. But anyway, I wanted to be sure everything was OK, so I booted it while connecting it the my TV through the HDMI port of the motherboard IO.

The PC boots but nothing appears on the TV, it stays black. I have a code "Ab" on the motherboard, which means "Wait user command in BIOS Setup" as mentioned in the motherboard doc.

I've tried to connect my TV through the HDMI ports of my GPU, but nothing changes, still a dark screen and "Ab".

Do you think there is a problem I should deal with or do I simply need to plug a keyboard in? Seems strange to me…

I've tried flashing with the F10a version of the bios : this time, I get 2 error codes : Ab then d9, on a loop.

"AB" means "Wait user command in BIOS Setup"
"D9" means "Can't load Boot Option"

Then, I've tried flashing with the F5 version of the bios : same thing, I get Ab then d9 on a loop.

I don't know exactly what it means and what I should do. Any idea?

I went back to the F10a bios then I plugged inside the USB port of the motherboard a drive which all the files needed to install the new system. Now, I get the "A0" code, which means "IDE initialization is started". So it should be fine. But he problem is, I get nothing on my screen.

The things that bothers me is that I don't have a real PC monitor right now, so I plugged it directly to my TV, a Panasonic EZ950, through the HDMI port on the tower (and the HDMI2 port of the TV). I've also tried the 2 other HDMI ports of the GPU, a Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT, but nothing works.
Could it be it, the TV I mean? I'm waiting for a real monitor but it's getting long…

FOUND IT !

All I had to do was to plug the HDMI cable of the TV to the HDMI port of the GPU BEFORE turning the power on. And now it's detected and I can get inside the BIOS. I don't know why it has to be before booting the tower and why the HDMI port of the motherboard doesn't work either, only the GPU, but I don't care.

Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.
