Does the SOC voltage setting do anything on the AORUS GA-AX370-Gaming K7? I played around with settings between 1V and 1.2V and it doesn't seem to change anything other than making the CPU run hotter at higher voltages. CPU overclocking isn't any more stable at 1.2V compared to 1V. My Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz Hynix RAM runs at 3200mhz regardless of SOC voltage being at 1.2V or 1V.

Just curious if others are experiencing the same.

My core is at 1.35 and my SoC is currently way low at something just under 0.9 volts... I'm on a super soft OC at 3.8 on a 1700X CPU. Unless you push into tweaker territory and start min/maxing with your testing... my assumption is you won't mess around with SoC a lot dependent on how hardcore your RAM selection is/was etc...

That's funny... I'm also running a 1700X at 3.8ghz.

Vcore = 1.30625v
SOC = 1v (doesn't seem to matter at all, maybe I'll drop it to 0.9v as well)
DRAM = 1.38v (When running at 1.35v I got some BSOD issues which I believe may be related to RAM, so I bumped it up for good measure. Haven't had BSOD since)
LLC = Normal (not sure how much extra voltage this actually gives)

is a very light beginner's guide to overclocking this platform.

I was saying your SoC varies user to user build and my suspicion is that it's dependent on what your RAM is running at or something like that. I could be way off base.

SoC does absolutely nothing for me. There is no difference (besides temps) between 1.1v and 1.3v and I can run 3200MHz RAM at 1.1v without issue.

Actually feels like a ton of options in the BIOS do absolutely nothing for me.

"Auto" SoC sets it to 1.25v, but I don't see what it's doing. Other boards claim it impacts memory stability, but once again I run 3200MHz XMP Profile without issue (DRAM is set to 1.35v through XMP).

Do you have the Corsair LPX 3200 16-18-18-36? I haven't been able to get it above 2933 with everything I've tried. Is it dependent on the CPU or anything? I've tried raising the SoC and ram voltage but it won't boot the RAM at 16-18-18-36. I did manage to find someone who got it running at 14-16-16-18 on the same board at 2933 without changing anything else and could replicate it and run stable there however.

Edit. Running the K7 and F3 bios with a R5 1600 at 36 speed for CPU and tried many things but have the RAM currently at 16-18-18-36 1.35v and 29.33 for speed.

I lowered my SOC voltage to 0.9 an my system was no longer able to boot, goes into a bootloop. So I will stick with 1v for now.

My Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 v5.39 16-18-18-36 has always run at 3200mhz without much issues. Getting the 1700X to 3.9ghz under 1.4v Vcore has been quite a challenge though.

Yeah, that all seems to make perfect sense to me.

1700X isnt' 1800X etc...
