Using the gigabyte app center @bios I updated my BIOS from F6c to F20a, after rebooting the system would not post. BIOS fail LEDs show hanging at VGA. I reseated the video card, tried another I had, tried onboard video without the video card. All resulted in the system not POSTing.
I had to use QFlash Plus to recover F6c.
Just a heads up for anyone that has this motherboard and wants to update to F20a, I advise caution.
Hi, I had the exactly same experience today With this MB. Could you please describe step by step how you did exactly with qflash plus? I'm trying to downgrade to 6c since this morning, impossible to make it works. I followed a lot of tutorials and forums, same result. Thank you for your help. Cheers, Meyzo

Morning mate,
I'd posted this to another forum user as they too were having problems. The process isn't very clear, and across a few different pages.
Download and extract previous BIOS to a clean (fat32) usb key (your case F6c). Rename the BIOS file to GIGABYTE.bin (I had removed all parts from my motherboard, this was based on something I read but I don't know if you need to). Insert the usb key into the white USB port on the back of the motherboard. --It says now to just press qflash button on the motherboard, but that didn't work for me.-- Power the PC via case power button. Wait a min and press the qflash button on the board. The qflash led should start flashing. Wait for the update to complete and the system to shutdown and not start again (~6-10mins). Remove the key and you should be good to boot. It did reboot once before booting normally.
Hope this helps. Note that in another thread I read you do need to have all components removed (eg, cpu/ram/video card/nvme/ssds etc)
eXferance
edit: there is speculation that the F20 BIOS only works with gen11 CPUs (eg Rocket Lake and not with the gen 10 we have). I haven't read anything official to state that.
Thanks mate ! That's what I basicaly did all day long, without succes, even without any hardware connected, 2 or 3 different usb keys...then I just remembered I also had a very old one (SanDisk 8GB) plugged on my PS3 and decided to try without real hopes...And tadaaam, it worked !!! I'm now back on F6c. Thanks again for helping ! Meyzo

Hello I update the motherboard from the default version to F20a and I have the same problem but the vga led stay on and I can’t use the Qflash button, it doesn’t work
I have the Z490 Aorus Master and the F20a bios also crashed my PC, wouldn't post. Went back to F8 through QFlash and I also had to re-install my whole system (on a different note, this one's on me as I had disabled Intel RST), but now USB Turbo Charger won't install. This is very disapointing. Opened 2 tickets.

Hi mate, How closely did you follow my instructions? Did you rename the bios file? Did you try with everything removed (just motherboard and power?)? Did you turn the pc on with the USB key in and when pressed the qflash?
That’s all I can suggest atm. Let us know how you went.

I had the exact same issue. I searched and finally found the same instructions you mentioned and used the QFlash button to return to F6c.
My issue I now have is that when I update to F20a (using QFlash in BIOS - which is successful), Windows crashes on boot with Stop code: Driver Verifier DMA Violation. It enters a boot cycle and eventually goes to the Windows Repair Screen, which cannot fix it. Moving back to F6c fixes the problem.

Sorry mate, I'm in AU and not sure what the return address would be. I would recommend replying to the RMA support ticket/email and requesting address details.
Are you sure it's not part of the RMA document? Normally these have all the information required for the return of an item.

Just wanted to update here that I had the same issue with my Z490 Aorus Elite AC when I tried updating bios from f5 to f20a using windows @bios utility. The computer wouldn't boot up and red VGA light was on. After much head scratching, I was able to downgrade bios to F6c using Q flash plus utility.

andreigrum wrote: Feb 18, 2021 8:42:19 GMT -8 Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.

I tried all F2x/F3x, same behavior. Even reset btn stops working, so I have to keep Pwr btn pressed 10 sec. Thanks in advance :
