HI hey all. I have a X399 Aurus Pro w/ 1900X Threadripper that was working perfectly for 2 months, didnt use it much over the holidays, when I went to turn it on on Friday, nothing happened. As in, press the power button and NOTHING. I have a EVGA 1600W PSUe top (Platinum) on it, but I bought a smaller PSU (700W) just in case. also nothing. I dont do overclocking (other than using XMP1.0 profile for ram) so I dont think that would be the cause.
When I flip the power switch on the PSU, the motherboard LED (the one w/ Auros logo) blinks once. when i press the power button , nothing happens. I also tried pressing the "PWR" switch on the mobo itself, and still nothing. I stripped down the machine to minimal and still nothing. Removed even the CPU and still nothing. CPU socket looked good (no bent pins, etc.). Again, the system was working great until it suddenly wouldnt turn on anymore. I didnt zap it with static as far as I know.
I had a Bluetooth dongle on the top USB ports (Design 7 XL case) that was lit (it used to stay lit even when machine is turned off). When I pressed the power button on, it turned off, never to turn on again. There wasn't a static discharge when turning the power button on, so... not sure what it could be. Doesnt seem to have any power flowing thru any ports
So, again, nothing lights up when I press the power button. I tried the PSU jumper test, and both boxes pass (my existing 1600W one and the brand new one I bought 700W). When I flip the switch on the PSU, fans DO NOT spin up on the PSU, and the mobo LED flickers once. and that's it. No POST, etc. the diagnostic LED doesnt turn on either, it's just "off".
- Do you think its the motherboard at this point? (i.e. rather than PSU)
- Are the diagnostic LEDs (the number ones) supposed to light up , even if CPU not plugged in? I was hoping for some sign of life when "power button" is pressed on the mobo.
I can't imagine two PSUs being dead (probability wise). Waiting to hear back from eSupport. Really annoyed. this was expensive build, and I have work to do on this machine. SHould I just RMA/warranty claim at this point? I am fighting the temptation to buy another board.
Thanks for your help!!!
