Looking into a new build, always been a fan of gigabyte and I can find numerous articles that ASUS, ASRock, and MSI have enabled this and that it "should" be enabled across the Z490 chipset but was wondering from current Gigabyte owners if Resizable Bar is enabled on the current BIOS for Z490 Gigabyte boards?
Can any Gigabyte Z490 users confirm? I can't find anything on Google or reddit(probably not a popular question yet).
I know there are articles that state it "should" be enabled for the Z490 chipset, but only can find articles of ASUS, ASRock, and MSI actually enabling it.
Don't hold your breath. I just wasted a day trying to get it to work on the Designaire Vision D Z490 and basically with it enabled I get a post fail with the Can't find video card error d6.
Vid card is RX 6800, so pretty much one of the only cards you'd want resizeable BAR on.
First I went to F20a (mostr recent official) and got a dead board. No post or anything. Had to remove CPU and every component to reflash to F7c which is also crap.
This board has been a nightmare from teh get go. I did a replacement thinking it was a bad board but the replacement is terrible too. Then I replaced the CPU, RAM GPU and PSU....but nope....it's the crappy board.
Stay away from gigabyte for resize Bar I say. Look to ASUS.

All, I bought a 6800XT and thought will add the F20A update to my Vision D1.1 so can try the Resizable Bar, What a bad mistake , the thing wouldnt boot after the bios update failed at 4f. In the end had to Q-flash the motherboard ...and went back to F7C, enabled the RB and then boom wouldnt post either .... Apart from that I like this board , runs windows 10 and Opencore Hackingtosh like a dream , complete with TB3. Bit of a paiin on memory will admit
My Signature... Gigabyte Z490 vision D 1.1 I9-10900kf usually all cores at 5.2 F4-4000C18Q-32GVK Sapphire nitro + SE 6800XT Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora 420 CPU - Digital RGB Windows 10 pro on Gen 4 NVME Big Sur on opencore 0.6.3 on Gen 3 NVME Swap drive on extended fat Gen 3 NVME
I also updated to F20a instead of F8 on my Z490 Master. Didn't leave me with a dead board, though it boot looped a few times before it posted. Downgraded to F8 and its fine. BAR turned on but waiting for Nvidia drivers and Intel drivers to take advantage of it.

You are quite right that RBAR requires quite time (an some to achieve support from drivers and software. But, my perception is that problems with two BIOS updates in December only (!) are not connected with RBAR. F8a already has RBAR support, and works quite well. i9-10900K works with 5.3GHz enabled on all cores without fluid cooling. F20b bricked many computers/motherboards. Mine was "so bricked" that I have had to open case, turn switch to backup BIOS and reverse the update via Q-Flash. So, I have feeling that this "large number increase " - from F8 to F20 - has something to do with support for (unseen) 11th generation of Intel processors. this is the only new thing in F20b.
Oh Gigabyte should have made it clear that F20 was ONLY for the 11th series cpus if that is indeed the problem with it. I'm not sure I actually have 2 working bios, even though I have the switch on single bios, if I switch between bios 1 and 2 it still boots to F8 bios when I have only installed F8 on one bios chip. It is indeed a mess.

You are right. Everything is semi-documented or, better to state, under-documented. The ONLY documentation which comes with BIOS releases is short comment on site. Lets say F20a is F8b+11thGen, but who knows? Also it should work with 10thGen, I hope. Among other things is conception of Dual BIOS. Somewhere, User Manual I think, has been stated that Q-Flash will continue updating Backup BIOS. So, if my interpretation is correct, you can have two SAME releases of BIOS with different settings?!
I have Z490 AORUS ELITE AC (rev1.0). So my question now, should I update my MOBO to bios F20a if I already updated to F6c without any problem before since they mention in the description the bios F20a is for 11th Gen Intel Core Processors or should I not be bothered to update this if I going to continue using 10th Gen Intel Processor, just wanna know if there any differences or its just the same setting except its built so that 11th Gen is compatible with the motherboard.
Ok I shall skip F20a and stay with current bios then, man they should state more in the description to make it more clear like “( for those still using 10th gen intel processors no need to update this bios)” . Zzz I don’t want to brick my motherboard for such simple mistake they make lol. Also for resize bar thingy, I noticed it’s only appear when I enabled “Above 4G Decoding” and the options available are disabled and auto only, so how should I know it’s enabled or not if it leaves with auto? Hmm well maybe I should just disable this setting because Resizable BAR will be supported on the GeForce RTX 30 Series, starting with the RTX 3060 in late February. Nvidia just mentioned this in their latest CES event, what do you guys think?. Thanks for any replies

I Would stick to Colonel's advise. "If it works don't fix it!". Plus, nobody can explain what are the (visible) benefits of RBAR now. Meaning, it will take some time, and some, to develop interaction between CPU and GPU working on different architecture, frequencies and speeds. I have bricked my mobo for several hours, and I don't recommend repeating same mistake. BR
AVOID f20.. I just had to remove all my components to flash back down to f7.. what a pain in a55.. that bios is meant for a 11gen cpu, their Description needs a *note telling people not to use it or they should remove it until the CPUs are available.. what a head ache.
