not seeing the resizable bar anywhere, perhaps because of my cpu or gpu. Where do you see it in the bios?
It's in Settings/IO Ports, right below PCIe bifurcation--got the resizable bar and above 4g decode option as well. Surprised me as I was not expecting to see it! I saw it because whenever I install a new bios I put in all the settings manually to begin with, and look through everything to see if something is new--and there it was...!
PS--although I certainly hope you can see the options to test, if you don't see them then perhaps that means the bios thinks my hardware will support the resizable bar...I'm still too chicken to try it myself--although I have backed up my C:\partition with Macrium Reflect in preparation....;)

EDIT: This bios version has the resizable bar option! I'm weighing the pros and cons of testing it...;) So far, I am completely chicken.
What happens if we get to F31z? Do we then go F31aa, ab, ac etc? F31 wasn't final after all
Yes...;) I think we both figured that because of the length of time they were taking with F31...I think they'll jump to F32 (or maybe higher) when they put their next bios out for public consumption!...;)

above 4g has been there since the launch day bios for me, but I didn't notice the BAR adjustment. I will check again later and make sure I didn't miss it. I just glanced through quickly after flashing. I do have a 2700x and 2080 so it wouldnt surprise me if that was the limitation. The bios options are very limited on older cpus. I ordered a 5800x earlier this week, hopefully it actually ships soon.

I'm jealous now about the 5800X...yes, I couldn't remember whether 4G decode was there or not, really, look forward to hearing from you--you could be exactly right about CPU affecting the options! I still haven't tried it yet. I'm trying to get a 6800XT of some description before I go to a 5000 CPU, you lucky dog, you...;)

Update, the resizable bar works perfectly in 31q, apparently. Turning on both 4G decode & resizable bar in the bios resulted in a system which boots normally...5700XT properties/resources reads "Large memory range" (which does not appear when resized/4G is turned off).
It may be doing something with GPU performance.
Unigine Valley bench, settings 3840x2160, DX11, Ultra Quality, AA off, full screen, vsync off (of course), freesync off
Resize Off:
Avg FPS 51.4 Score 2149 Min FPS: 32.7 Max FPS 79.3
Resize On:
Avg FPS 51.8 score 2166 Min FPS: 30.3 Max fps: 81.1
--A mixed bag...but a bit of improvement in avg & max performance, however. Will be doing further testing and returning to this thread to update as I go. Interesting results.

More or less the same...we may be getting a hint as to why these options have not been enabled before now with GPUs specifically aligned to bar resizing for performance.

I'm still seeing the same issue where during a cold boot it randomly fails to restart the usb ports once windows begins loading. I have to hit the reset button and make it reboot to get them back.
