Flames shoot out when I boot X570 board with my RTX 3090 & Ryzen 5950x...Actually it's all a lie, just a clickbait title to say "Happy Holidays to all the support people on this board"
and one small rant:
I have noticed a disturbing trend of people posting bone-basic computer 101 questions with premium hardware. Where in the heck are the finding these parts (let alone affording them) and why are they even fooling around with parts that cost 1000s of $$$? Then selecting crappy, crapola no-name-never heard of it RAM that isn't on the QVL and wondering why their motherboard is defective and won't post. it seems to be the same problem over and over the last 6 months. The secondary problem is always with RGB won't do this or that. Man I don't touch that RGB stuff. It lights up red on the CPU cooler ..there it's working
Here's to 2021! <raises a glass>. =)

Sa'lute, my friend! Happy new year and merry Christmas in return! I know exactly what you mean....;) They ask a simple question, you answer it, then they hit you with a total broadside of disbelief--"Oh, that can't be right," etc...;) I think when that happens, "Why did I bother?"
I haven't been able to find a 6800XT at all, reference model or AIB model. I don't need a 5950...a 5900X would be nice but I can wait awhile. (I know you are kidding about yours...;)) It's like all the folks thinking it's an AMD hardware fault of their 3000/5000-series CPU if it cannot boot to an IF of 1900 or higher--or 2000Mhz!!!....AFAIK, the highest speed the current controllers support officially is 3733Mhz--as AMD's Robert officially opined one day. Indeed, I've been running successfully at 3733Mhz for most of the last year without a problem. But 1900MHz IF or higher? Can't do it--and I'm not the least upset by it, either...;) Difference between 1867Mhz and 1900MHz is peanuts...not worth getting excited over...but man, do they flip out over such trivia! One guy in another forum flat out stated his opinion that if the x570 Master couldn't hit 1900MHz IF reliably then his x570 Master is *terrible*, quote, unquote. Without a single nod to the official AMD memory controller limits! Yes, let's hope fervently that 2021 is a much better year, entirely!
Glad to report that with beta bios F31q, my x570 Aorus Master is running like a top--like clockwork. Sans RGB of any kind. I even turned off the RGB on my stock Wraith Prism cooler! Ahhhhhh-h-h-h-h-h....relief...;) Christmas tree lights belong on the Christmas tree and nowhere else, imo.

Waltc3: Ahh a fellow sufferer ..so it's not just me. I ran out of gas the last couple months fielding the same type of questions. I wish they would at least do some research, or at least give me all their defective parts..all those terrible 5000 CPUs and god-awful GtX3080s that won't play ball. I see first time system builders going straight to overclocking everything and can't figure out why it won't post. Using boards that are not friendly to overclocking and you have to pull the CMOS battery to reset them. Then we see when they do get a nice board the end up flashing the backup BIOS with a non working BETA BIOS too.. Gahhhh! /headshake
I will enjoy the holidays =)

I'd learned to build my own rigs from an expert who ran his own shop, and built computers for various offices and regular walk in buyers who want something better than those 'white boxes'. I'd silently watch as he assembled this office rigs, and he'd explain to me what went where, and the why's of it. That guy can build a system from scratch and get to POST within 4.5 minutes!
When I build a system, I do some research, yes, but most of the time, I buy the parts based on gut feeling. Even the RAM modules that I buy aren't based on the QVL of the mobo makers, and I've lucked out all the time! Of course, I don't buy any unknown or questionable brands of RAM/mobo/PSU/etc and stick to brands I know about. So far, none of my builds thru the years have given me any problem. The only thing I've not step up to is......custom water cooling setup, no confidence in ensuring that there'd be no leaks.
Anyway, a belated Happy New Year greetings to everyone! Game on!!!

andreigrum wrote: Feb 18, 2021 8:42:19 GMT -8 Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.

I tried all F2x/F3x, same behavior. Even reset btn stops working, so I have to keep Pwr btn pressed 10 sec. Thanks in advance :
