Hi,

Has anyone tried to connect a monitor using the USB Type-C port of the back of the Z490I AORUS ULTRA motherboard?
I would like to use the LG 38WN95C monitor as a USB hub and so I am wondering if the USB-C port at the back of the motherboard will be able to deliver both data and display signals to the monitor?

I don't want to use the motherboard's Display port nor HDMI port to the monitor, as I need to keep these ports available on the monitor for 3 other computers...

Hi,

You can daisy chain display port monitors if the monitors support daisy chaining.

Another suggestion is to use a display port hub.

Check to be sure that your processor supports IGPU. If not, then change the processor or install a discrete GPU to support your video requirements.

Hi,

It does not look like the monitor supports daisy chaining.
My CPU is the Core i7-10700 and so it indeed has integrated graphics.

So I take from your reply that the USB-C port of the motherboard does not support sending video signal to the monitor?

I have read the manual and there is no detail about it. The only thing it says is "USB Type-C™ Port

The reversible USB port supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 specification and is compatible to the USB 3.2 Gen 1

and USB 2.0 specification. Use this port for USB devices."

Hey all, got a X370 Gaming 5 with Ryzen 7 1700. My RAM (4 x G.Skill Trident 3200 with Samsung chips) are only working at 1866 MHz. Cant activate XMP 2.0, because mobo resets the timings to standard, if i do.

Essentially a new build:
