Hi all!
I have an x570 Aorus Master with a Ryzen 5900X and I'm having a few of issues:
1) I'm getting random reboots after long periods of idling, often accompanied with a WHEA 18 error before it decides to reboot. I think its related to power issues as I've mostly worked around the issue by bumping up my minimum power state to 5% (from 0%) in Windows power settings. I've gone from 5+ a night to 1 in the last few days. I'm hoping this is a BIOS issue and will be fixed in the next stable BIOS (they just took down F31L this morning, so hoping we see a stable F31 soon?).
2) When I try to manually reboot or shutdown, Windows looks like it finishes and the screen turns off but then the motherboard and fans stay active until I either hold the power button or hit the reboot button. It did seem to work once when I tried in Safe Mode. Will try that again this weekend when I'm not busy with work.
3) I can't install ANY drivers. Whenever I try the installer just hangs and I have to restart my system to get out of it. This includes when Windows tries to install new drivers.
I'm hoping that a fresh Windows reinstall will fix at least 2 and 3 and a new stable BIOS will fix 1. But other than that does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Besides the Kernel power logs when it restarted suddenly, all I really saw that seemed to matter were the WHEA 18 errors. Something about cache hierarchy and pointed to a particular core. That mixed with something said in a different forum led me to believe it was power related which is why i bumped up the minimum processor state within Windows 10 power settings and it seemed to have helped. But like I said, I did still have one WHEA 18 error yesterday, but the was the first in a few days.
All that means I'm still hoping it's BIOS related and will get fixed in a stable F31. I really hope I don't end up having to RMA this processor. It was hard enough to get one in the first place lol. But honestly even if it's not BIOS related, i can live with a higher min processor state.
Now if I can figure out the inability to restart manually, I'll be golden. Planning on doing a Windows reinstall soon when I have time to see if it fixes that and not being able to install drivers.
Thanks for the thought though!

Were you able to fix your issues? I'm actually putting together a new system tomorrow with this exact board and processor and hoping everything is worked out now.

I don't think anyone need worry about using a Zen 3 CPU with the latest bios versions. You're going to see some Whea warnings--and other things--for a while as the bios versions advance with updated Zen3 AGESA's from AMD. The same bios versions that for Zen 2 are 18 months mature, are just a couple of months mature for Zen 3--which means only that Zen 3 CPUs have some normal teething pains ahead of them in the AMD AGESAs before reaching maturity--just as was the case with Zen 2 and is always the case with any new CPU architecture release whether from AMD or Intel. It's the way of things...;)

Hey,
I have a 3900x and had random reboots on one of my X570 Master 1.2 (I have two, one has this issue the other doesn't)
I found that changing the VDDG to 950 and the VDDP to 900 solved the random restarts for me (https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabyte/comments/edzipx/aorus_x570_master_random_resets/).
I've got 5900x coming but will need to see if it has the same problems, personally think this is a board issue tbh.

As ne8 said random reboots during idling Periods can be Voltage Problems. I had these errors with my Ryzen 3900X while overclocking my DDR3200-Micron-E-Die-RAM to 1900 Mhz FCLK. The Problem was / is, that there are many possible reasons for this malfunction: Wrong VDDG, wrong VDDP, wrong VSOC, Ram-Latency Problems (and many other possible wrong RAM-Options) - or just the fact, that the CPU wasn't able to be stable at 1900 FCLK. I couldn't find out and so I decided to lower the FCKL to 1800 Mhz (which is still more than the standard 1600 Mhz). Since then, I never had a Reboot and all stability Tests with differnt Programs succeded.
I've heard, that the new Zen 3 CPUs still have problems to reach higher (stable) RAM-Clocks - even on new x570-Boards like mine (x570 Aorus Master), because there are still many optimizations needed. So maybe it is also a RAM-Problem with you. Try to reduce RAM-Clocks and use other (maybe standard) Voltages ..

andreigrum wrote: Feb 18, 2021 8:42:19 GMT -8 Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.

I tried all F2x/F3x, same behavior. Even reset btn stops working, so I have to keep Pwr btn pressed 10 sec. Thanks in advance :
