I am assembling a new system and running into an issue with the M2A slot on the motherboard.
Motherboard is the Z490 Aorus Master. Received with BIOS F3, I have updated to F6
I have 3 WD SN 750 1TB PCIe M.2 drives.
All 3 M.2 drives initially appeared in bios and I was able to establish MBR on one and install windows. When initialize the other 2 disks within Windows, both appeared. I was able to initialize one of them, but got an error on the 3rd. Rebooted, only 2 drives now showing in bios. M2M and M2P both show, M2A is showing N/A. Back in Windows, the 3rd drive does not show up in Disk Management at all now.
I tried swapping the drives in M2A and M2M. Boot into Windows and I open disk management and see all 3 drives briefly before I blue screen. Bios is showing M2A is awol again, but other drives are present.
I figure this is a good indicator that the M2A slot is an issue, so I RMA the motherboard and get a replacement. M2A is still awol in the new MB, and if I put the drive from M2M into the M2A slot I inevitably blue screen (assuming this is my OS drive failing in M2A after initially appearing briefly).
Essentially, 2 different M.2 drives fail in the M2A slot on two different motherboards, but the drives themselves work without issue when not placed in the M2A slot.
