Im about to buy a Ryzen 5000 CPU and a Motherboard.
My choice was Gigabyte X570 AORUS XTREME... But i recently saw a video from der8auer about "Dynamic Overclocking" which is an Asus exclusive feature on their Dark Hero motherboard. What it does is changing between boost and overclock mode automatically.
This seems like a game changer to me. Do Gigabyte have any equivalent function?, because even though i love the Gigabyte motherboards, that functions seems to good to pass....

This ! Gigabyte need to implement that really fast pretty please ! Basically what the feature does is you setup PBO and static overclock. When the load on the CPU is high (Watts, Amps, what ever you need to detect high load) the motherboard OC switch from PBO to static OC and when the load is relatively low (like in games) the board switch back to PBO.
The threshold between choosing PBO or static OC need to be a value you can chose (lets say Amps in the CPU, let people chose at which Amps value the board will switch from PBO to static OC).
Second Aorus board in a raw, won't be a third if this kind of feature ain't done.
I'm on a x570 Aorus Xtreme, so giving the price, I'm expecting a lot !
PS: Also curve optimizer ?! Where is a similar feature ? ^^

+1 for Dynamic OC Switching and/or Curve Optimizer equivalent. I posted some 3D Mark scores and filter to my graphics card and CPU (RTX2080ti and 5900X). The 5 scores above me are MSI boards running ~4ghz base clock and able to do boosting

I just updated from F31E to F31j and did find there is a curve optimizer under overclocking. Not much info on it or what the best settings are will need to experiment.

Curve Optimizer is Precision Boost Overdrive 2.0 - different than Asus' Dynamic Overclocking. With Dynamic Overclocking you set up your PBO profile, then you set up a static all core OC. The computer automatically switches between PBO and all core OC depending on load. Really cool.
PBO 2.0 is simply undervolting PBO by a small offset to reduce voltage and therefore heat to allow higher boosts to be achieved.
My PBO 1.0 max Cinebench R20 score was 11,500. My PBO 2.0 Cinebench R20 score is 11,780. I carried over my prior settings and added a -15mv offset and got significant increases. -15mv however did have some stability issues when switching from idle to a high impact workload. I bumped up to a -10mv offset (all core) and I am still sitting at 11,680 R20 scores but without stability issues.
I concur. Gigabyte needs to add something like this to at least the Aorus Master and Xtreme lines of mobos. Hopefully it's something they can add with BIOS updates and doesn't require a fresh board. My experience OC'ing my 5950X with this F30 BIOS so far has been horrible. F31J was alright, but F31l is the absolute worst. WHEA BSODs randomly creeping on me, etc. It'd be nice to have this feature to make OC'ing much simpler. It'd also be nice if they finally overhauled GB Fusion and made it worth using. It's so bad compared to ASUS Aura.

Scratch what I said. It looks like this feature is never coming to existing Gigabyte boards. 3 posts down in this ASUS Forum post, a ASUS Rep said the feature required PCB changes that only the Dark Hero possesses so far. So yeah...that sums that up. No older boards will be getting it them, let alone some other brand's boards.

I agree, F30 wasn't a good BIOS for anything other than booting. Although it was stable. F31 has been crazy. F31l was bad, but F31n is pretty good (it's on tweaktown, go get it).
I am putting down 5100 in R15 and 11650 in R20 Cinebench with my 5950x using PBO2.0, Auto OC, and Curve Optimization.

I had no idea this feature existed and just got buyers regret because I was hoping this feature would come to all 5000 Motherboard similar to SMT. I've spent a lot of time tweaking the Curve Optimizer to achieve the highest all core clock combined with single threaded performance. I've basically given up and lot PBO do it's thing but my 5900X can achieve 4.7 all core clock stable but PBO will only let hit about 4.44 while allowing max single core clocks.

does anyone have the bitspower or EK monoblock for this motherboard? Is it worth the money?
intender wrote: Jan 19, 2021 11:55:39 GMT -8 lima567 this is a windows 10 20h2 issue. I had the same thing on one of my computers. I was never able to get logged back into my account on that PC. I moved that drive to another computer and copied over all data I wanted to keep and did a clean install.

sozehh wrote: Jan 16, 2021 10:58:58 GMT -8 joeym ofc i've done it, signed and trying to spread the petition, gigabyte do your work please and add resizable bar for intel 300 series, it is not an old product, people like me spent 800 euros on aorus xtreme, don't tell me i have already an outdated mb

desaccorde wrote: Jan 15, 2021 0:50:15 GMT -8 300 Series MUST be supported, no other way. MSI supports it. They may think they're pushing their customers for a premature upgrade, but guess what? Even if I upgrade, I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte board. Me and all my close friends will never buy Gig again.
johnyb0y wrote: Jan 14, 2021 4:58:11 GMT -8 @gigabyte, I've personally built with half a dozen of your boards and recommended you at least 5 times last year. This will stop if you screw Z390 users with not supporting Re-BAR.*
