I have a x399 Aorus gaming 7 with a Thread Ripper 1920x. I am running Dual GPU In my top 16x slot is a rx590 the next available 16x slot a rx570 (running at 8x for some reason) Both are Sapphire Nitro,The 590 is the blue shroud edition. But both 8gb ram. One issue is the second gpu running at pcie 8x. My WD Blue 1 TB m.2 sata ive had to move because of lack of it being Seen by the system and unable to boot off of it in the bottom right corner. is now in the top slot. I have a NVME m.2 pcie Samsung 500 gb i would like to put in but havent with concern of more issues i do not wish to deal with atm. 32gb of Gskill Ripjaw 3200 mhz ram 8gb x 4 Dimms.

I Updated the bios from f1 to f12. My machine will freeze to the point i cant even bring up the task manager. my bluetooth connection drop and the system is only able to be powered down manually by hard power button off.
Between 5 to 30 mins it will freeze like its its job. Please Help. Also Some insight or explanation of pcie lanes and slots that i am not usuing correctly or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

I had this board until January when I replaced it with an X570. I did find problems with the PCIe slots as well - if I had an M.2 in the lower-right slot the SATA drives all slowed right down. I only ever used one GPU at a time, but it did run at x8 in the second x16 slot. I also found the PCIe bandwidth was too low for x16 when tested. I think these boards were not brilliant from day one. I did have the latest BIOS on there when I removed it from my case.

1.) On Your Auros Gaming 7 X399, Did You step through the Bios Updates?
2.) Break it down to only 1 GPU. And test.
3.) Did You update both Bios chips or only the Primary Bios?

I do not have personal experience on this particular Motherboard. Only on the x399 Designare and x399 Aorus Extreme.

Your PCIe Slots explained... According to Your PDF Manual, You have:

1.) 2 - x16 Slots - PCIEX16_1 (top) & PCIEX16_2 (bottom)
2.) 1 - PCIEX8_1
3.) 1 - PCIEX4

All of the Slots are x16 mechanically, NOT electrically. Most x399 Motherboards are 2 - x16 Slots and 2 - x8 Slots.

Fixed by a Win reinstall to UEFI. Old install was non-UEFI and I guess this was causing the problem. Still since F11 was working this proves there might be an issue with no-UEFI installs on F20 and F30.

I know that you can use the first m.2 slot and still get x16 on the gpu but if i want to use the second m.2 aswell then the gpu will run at x8
