I've got this strange issue that's been occuring since i built my computer. I've got a X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI with a Ryzen 7 2700x. Occasionally, maybe once a month, twice a month at most, the motherboard will not power on. When the computer is shut off, the motherboard lights just go dead on the back of the board and there are no lights anywhere. I have found through trial and error if I physically remove the CMOS battery and wait a little, then put the same battery back in it will work again for another month or so. Using the clear CMOS button on the back of the board and jumping the CMOS headers on the board do not work, only physically removing the battery. I have replaced the battery and it is good. I have also swapped this entire motherboard out for an identical one and it is still happeneing. It occurs regardless if the RAM is running stock speeds or XMP. I also don't think it's the power supply otherwise it wouldn't work for the entire month I'm assuming.
This is really weird and has been annoying me for months now, but I'm completely out of ideas. It wouldn't be that big of an issue but I have to reset my bios settings everytime and also getting to my CMOS is pretty hard because I made a custom loop for this build. Thanks.

If you've already swapped the motherboard and it's still happening that one would assume it's probably not a m/b issue. Do you have the bios set where when the system is powered off some of the motherboard lights remain "on"? This board has different settings for that feature. You mentioned the motherboard lights go dead which is why I asked.
You might try changing some of the other connected hardware including the power supply. How do you have your 2 Bios switches configured?
FYI I have the same m/b and cpu but not seeing that issue.

I never explicity set any Bios feature like that. Usually when I turn the computer off the Power and CMOS Reset lights on the back remain glowing orange. When this issue occurs they do not glow anymore after shutdown. The bios switches are both set to '1'. I thought it might be the power supply but I'm confused why its fine for a month.

memory, is your monitor connected to the GPU by a display port cable? If so, change to HDMI and see if that doesn't fix it. There are some faulty DP cables with power running through the 20th pin from the monitor back into the GPU to the motherboard that causes lights to stay on and other weird problems.

Check out this thread...My motherboard is completely different, however the symptoms of the problem you describe are exactly like the ones I have encountered--I'm on x570 Master and a 3900X:

Yea it is. Well that's annoying if that's the issue, I'll test with HDMI but I would like to use DP Cables. Is there a list somewhere of DP cables or brands that don't do this? Thanks. These are the cables I'm using (https://www.amazon.com/GearIT-Gold-Plated-DisplayPort-Cable/dp/B01JKH6YIU)

memory, if switching to the HDMI didn't fix the issue, then the problem isn't your DP cable.
Good luck
The comp only doesn't turn itself back on once or twice a month or so, and I'd rather not have to run all my monitors off HDMI for a month, and just get new DP cables unless there's a shorter term test. If I plug in a HDMI cord is there any way I can test to see if it's the DP cord without just waiting for the computer to stop turning on? Thanks, appreciate it!

memory, as i tried to explain. If the DP was bad (meaning it was returning power back into the mobo), then when you change to HDMI the problems you have would go away. They didn't go away. Therefore your DP cable isn't faulty.

I got the cable, have installed it, but besides a noticeable sharper and clearer display--which kind of surprised me, really--I'll just have to wait and see if the problem returns. I bought my cable in July of '19, the only DP1.4 cable on Amazon at the time, and I will bet it's much inferior to my present cable--judging by the improvement in the display quality. Won't know anything unless the problem doesn't return. Here's the one I bought:

does anyone have the bitspower or EK monoblock for this motherboard? Is it worth the money?
intender wrote: Jan 19, 2021 11:55:39 GMT -8 lima567 this is a windows 10 20h2 issue. I had the same thing on one of my computers. I was never able to get logged back into my account on that PC. I moved that drive to another computer and copied over all data I wanted to keep and did a clean install.

sozehh wrote: Jan 16, 2021 10:58:58 GMT -8 joeym ofc i've done it, signed and trying to spread the petition, gigabyte do your work please and add resizable bar for intel 300 series, it is not an old product, people like me spent 800 euros on aorus xtreme, don't tell me i have already an outdated mb
joeym wrote: Jan 16, 2021 7:15:27 GMT -8 I would strongly recommend that anyone who hasn't already signed the petition do so now. If you already signed it, please share it! This may help encourage all other motherboard manufacturers to follow suite. Link to the petition: chng.it/LKLksG4yQv

desaccorde wrote: Jan 15, 2021 0:50:15 GMT -8 300 Series MUST be supported, no other way. MSI supports it. They may think they're pushing their customers for a premature upgrade, but guess what? Even if I upgrade, I wouldn't buy a Gigabyte board. Me and all my close friends will never buy Gig again.
johnyb0y wrote: Jan 14, 2021 4:58:11 GMT -8 @gigabyte, I've personally built with half a dozen of your boards and recommended you at least 5 times last year. This will stop if you screw Z390 users with not supporting Re-BAR.*
mezzer wrote: Jan 14, 2021 2:23:19 GMT -8 This will be my last gigabyte mobo if there's no resize bar support on 300 series.
