Bios is set to auto, and I even tried setting it to Gen 3. Still shitty speeds. So, my Sansung 960 EVO m.2 is running at SATA speeds. Not happy.
I don't have time tonight, but I'll test the drive in the other two m.2 slots just to see what the speeds are. Very disappointing and I don't know why I didn't test the speeds to begin with. For me this motherboard has been really stable, but I'm not going to put up with delayed attention to BIOS updates. If there is an issue, then the issue needs to be addressed by Gigabyte and not swept under the rug. This motherboard just got one step closer to going on eBay.
If I'm reading that correctly, that's a little disappointing? Even if a single drive was running on a Chipset lane I would hope for better. Again, if I'm reading that correctly is the key. I'm starting to lean on the idea of spending the extra $$$ for ASUS. I'm looking to process large data streams of video, audio (my hobbies) and other unrelated big-data processing (my studies/work).
It is indeed. I'm going to set the speed in the bios to Gen 3 instead of Auto and see if I that has something to do with it. If not, hmmmmm.
From the above, it appears my m.2 is running in PCI-E mode 2 instead of 3, and I have the setting set to Auto.
--Update-- Duh.. I think I know what I know what is going on. To prevent the PCI errors showing up in the linux kernel logs, I changed the setting from Auto to Gen2. When I installed the M.2, I changed to the setting back to Auto and add the boot arguments to grub, but I do recall I re-loading a saved bios profile shortly afterwards - I was playing around with overclocking. I obviously need to update the saved profile. Can't now, the wife is playing WOW and will kill me if I take the net down. The box runs everything in this house.

divinewrath wrote: Jan 12, 2018 15:17:43 GMT -8 anyway to sync gigabyte motherboard and gpu to color sync and color cycle? Doesn't look good when my 1080 xtreme is a different color from my z270x gaming 7 while doing color cycle, only way to match them so far is static color option.
