My motherboard arrived, with a bit of an adventure since Amazon delivered it to completely the wrong address. I thought I was going to get arrested as a "Porch Pirate".
Getting it out of the shipping box, this thing is MASSIVE!
I was looking at the waterblock package, and there are a bunch of thermal pads in a package. I'm not a huge fan of these, preferring Nano Diamond paste by a wide margin. On my previous system, my Nvidia Titan would run 90C with the factory heatsink grease applied, but only 40C with the nano diamond paste. Another clue to the waterloop performance is how fast the chip temp rises when you hit it with the load. Good heatsink coupling means the chip die temp rises much slower.
So I'm leaning hard twoard skipping the pads and using only nano diamond compound.
Anyone have input on this?
