Thanks for all the help Matt, I see you want these to succeed, hopefully the OC range can have a lot more versitility over the base cards that will be released later on. I've ordered a 2080 Windforce OC and I'm constantly checking these forums to have as much knowledge as I can to OC my card once it arrives. Cheers!!
Have 2 2080ti Windoforce getting delivered on 10/18...but if I had known about this ridiculous power limit I would have never bought them. Is this card getting a new BIOS or not?
my power limit is 109 and I'm getting a +200 bump in core mhz
You won't be stable in all applications with a 109 power target, even under water cooling. There are many games that surpasses that power target without any issue... And I don't want to do ANY shunt mode just because Gigabyte doesn't want to put a higher power target, which should be, without a problem and inside spec, 345 watts (27 watts for the Virtual Link) to run under the PCI spec. ATX maximum for those types of connectors would be something in the reals of 694W, without counting the PCI power
Just FYI the power limits are NVidia spec, and the windforce cards are our "base" model. Just so everyone has accurate information when making a purchasing decision: Right now there is no plan to raise the power limit on windforce cards. Its always possible we do somewhere down the road, but for right now we are sticking with the current VBios. That being said I encourage you to read reviews and ask other who have any of our cards how they are performing. A few tests (Tech Yes City in AU) actually got better OC's, with lower noise, than some competitors with the lower power limit still in place!

totallypissedoff wrote: Feb 16, 2019 5:02:17 GMT -8 grichie Try downloading, and installing the Aorus Graphics Engine directly from the Gigabyte website. Installing from the disk is not the best idea, as it is most likely an older version of the software.

I turned it on thinking I could setup two NVME drives in a stripe, but when I enabled Easy Raid, I found the NVME drives don't show up in the list, and th the existing SATA SSD no longer properly boot

vanowm wrote: Feb 8, 2019 15:25:27 GMT -8 joaomonteiro, try another power supply, then remove/unplug everything except power supply, then add cpu, next ram. Test it after each step, If not changes between all these steps, then I'd say it's dead.
